Recap: There’s a lot of Spider-Sense-ish abilities for Bart to bypass, so we’ll see if he’s worth the trouble.The spiders focus on Superboy first, as he’s absorbing other wounds. Ashley misses multiple Spider-Strikes on both Superboy and Nightwing, but she eventually takes out Superboy with a big normal attack. Kid Flash goes between Venom and Peter, dealing a wound here and there, and uses the blanks part of his power to finish off Ashley. At this point the rest of the Titans pod hold strong even without Superboy. The Spiders can’t roll any decent attacks, and Pete Web slings Nightwing 3 separate times, and Nightwing rolls his shield on his single die every time. Kid Flash rushes Otto around this time while Starfire picks off Assassin and Pete. Otto gets a wound on Starfire but that’s about it. Raven healed quite a few random wounds from the Titans and shot them at the spiders. All in all pretty poor luck for the Spiders.

Kid Flash definitely was useful. He ended up with only one wound even though he took quite a few attacks, since he was especially dangerous against the Spiders. His doubled shields blocked nearly everything coming at him, and his SA is really solid.

Recap: Robin starts the game in the Gundam. Kid Flash doesn’t run too far forward as of yet. While the Fighters all try to get into position, the Gundam start Bazookaing then, ending up killing Shi before she can do anything. Iron Fist charges the Gundam, Luke takes point on a hill (With Punisher behind him attacking so Luke’s attacks aren’t wasted), and then the Gundam beam rifles Daredevil to death before he can do anything either. The Fighters just rain blows upon the Gundam, while Kid Flash charges to engage Luke and Punisher (Stopping Punisher from attacking the Gundam, and hoping to get Luke with his SA). Punisher deals one wound to KF with his warning shots while he got close. KF ends up dealing 2 wounds to Luke with his special attack before the two of them take him out with a whiffed defense roll. The Gundam gets taken out, with Iron Fist shortly after. Changeling takes up KF’s spot, and he tanks quite a few hits, including going Porcupine to finish off Punisher! The game ends with Luke Vs Robin, and the round switch let Luke get up close to Robin and kill him in one hit.

THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT'S COST, BALANCE, & DRAFTABILITY: One win and one loss, but both still felt kind of in favor of KF. The YJ team couldn’t crack Luke and Punisher’s defense, even with a Gundam. Comparing KF to Impulse, KF seems like a clear winner, aside from the risky multi-attack. KF feels much more of a “safe” choice, and I wonder if that’s not worth more than 20 points more than Impulse? I wouldn’t feel a 10-20 point bump is out of the question.

That aside, he’s a very fun and useful piece. Definitely scary to see across the table if you have a few decent defensive abilities on your side. Big fan of this guy.

I do want to point out that it appears that all his wins were in the NW, Raven, SF builds and all his losses where in other Titan/speedster builds. Perhaps the 20 point bump isn't fully his burden to bear

Very true. But Bart is a particularly nice addition to that core with his special attack, filling a mechanical hole they're short on (except for Nightwing's melee special attack). There's definitely a Titan tax since the Titans are a strong army, but it's one I'm comfortable paying, if that makes sense.

Bart felt like he was more useful and did more in the YJ army in my games, even though it was technically a loss. Only reason I suggested it. Bats knows the atitans well so I trust what he thinks either way here!

Robin grapples to height and snipes a Joker Goon. Wonder Girl advances.
Joker advances. Harley advances and throws her bomb. It misses Miss Martian but hits a whiffing Wonder Girl for three wounds.
Robin grabs the Cosmic Cube and misses an attack on a Joker Goon. Kid Flash runs to height.
Hugo has Harley, Crazy Quilt, Joker, and three Joker Goons advance.

Round 2: Robin reveals the X. Initiative Misfits. Killer Moth pops up next to Harley. Joker Goons put two wounds on Robin, knocking out the Cosmic Cube. Crazy Quilt picks it up, then shoots Robin, KOing him. The Goons can’t take another turn with Crazy Quilt, because he is busy gloating.
With Killer Moth in his path to Harley, Kid Flash goes after Killer Moth, using the blanks option on his special attack, and inflicts two wounds.
Clayface advances. Harley takes a Hit Anything that Moves wound to move next to Kid Flash, but catches him whiffing for 2 wounds. He does roll 3 blanks and moves away to height.
Miss Martian fails to throw Crazy Quilt but does KO him with an attack. The Cosmic Cube flies next to her.
Clayface moves next to Miss Martian and Wonder Girl and tries to Toxic Touch Wonder Girl. No one hits any D20 rolls. Harley takes a Hit Anything That Moves wound and fails an attack on Miss Martian.
Wonder Girl grabs the Cosmic Cube, transfers a wound to Clayface, takes a wound from using it, the Cube flies next to Harley, then Wonder Girl punches Clayface for three wounds.
Clayface’s Unstable Body falls apart at the end of the round.

Round 3: Initiative Misfits. Killer Moth pops up next to Harley. Joker fails an attack from height on Wonder Girl. Harley dodges a hit from Miss Martian and picks up the Cosmic Cube, transfers a wound from herself to Wonder Girl, takes a wound from the Cube to send it flying, then misses an attack on Miss Martian.
Wonder Girl picks up the cube, transfers a wound to Harley, takes a wound herself, then punches Killer Moth for a wound.
Killer Moth avoids a hit attempt from Wonder Girl, then uses the Cube to finish her. He takes back a third wound and the Cube flies next to Miss Martian. Killer Moth whiffs an attack from height on Aqualad.
Miss Martian grabs the cube, uses it to move a wound from Killer Moth to Harley, KO’ing Harley. Then Miss Martian takes a wound and the Cube goes flying. Joker sheds an Injustice Marker and moves himself, a Goon, and Killer Moth. Joker picks up the Cube. Miss Martian fails her throw, but not bad enough for Joker, then she punches Killer Moth for a third wound.
Goons and Joker can’t touch Miss Martian, even with one sacrificing to give him a double turn.
Kid Flash uses the blanks version of his special attack and finishes Killer Moth.

Round 4: Initiative Misfits. Each Joker Goon hits Miss Martian for a wound. Joker fails an attack on Kid Flash. Then a Joker Goon sacrifices himself and Joker finishes Miss Martian.
Miss Martian had OM1.
The last Joker Goon hits Kid Flash for a wound. Joker uses the Cube to throw Kid Flash to height disadvantage, taking a wound for using the Cube. Then he KO’s Kid Flash from height. The last Goon sacrifices itself and Joker grabs the Cube and transfers a wound to Aqualad, taking a wound himself. Then Joker shoots Aqualad for a wound.
Kid Flash had OM2.
Hugo has Joker attack Aqualad and he finishes Aqualad.

Unit Summary: The double shields are scary on paper, but Kid Flash didn’t roll well enough on 4 defense dice to make it scary in practice here. His special attack had a lot of potential to get around nasty defensive powers, but Killer Moth’s positioning prevented him from using it fully. This one felt fair and balanced.

Kid Flash zooms in and uses his special attack, negating Guardian’s shield, and hits Guardian for three quick wounds, sending the Space Gem flying.
Guardian takes height and rolls 2 skulls but Kid Flash blocks with one shield.
Titans Go! Hawk advances and grabs the Space Gem. Starfire advances and KO’s Guardian from range. Nightwing advances.

Round 2: Initiative Titans. Hawk uses the Space Gem to teleport back to Dove.
Hawkman advances. He attacks Kid Flash twice from range, but can’t hit.
Titans Go! Hawk moves himself and Dove adjacent to Hawkman. Kid Flash zooms past the fray and uses his special attack to hit Martian Manhunter for two wounds (2 blanks became skulls for an all skulls roll). Nightwing hits Hawkman for a wound from range.
Superboy engages Dove but takes two wounds from her Defensive Premonition after a wimpy 2 skull attack.
Kid Flash hits Superboy for a wound with his special attack (choosing the negation option). The blank option would’ve gotten him 3 more skulls and gotten the KO. Whoops.
Hawkman hits Hawk for three wounds. Superboy rolls poorly and can’t hit Kid Flash.

Round 3: Initiative Justice League. Hawkman tries to hit Kid Flash from height, rolls poorly, Superboy has something to prove, but whiffs, and Kid Flash blocks and picks up the Space Gem. Superboy grabs an Order Marker. With Champion’s Charge he punches Dove for a wound even though she sees it coming.
Dove swaps places with Hawkman and misses an unblockable on Superboy. Hawk attacks Hawkman twice from height but only gets in one wound.
Martian Manhunter advances, heals two wounds, and misses a Martian Vision attempt on Nightwing.
Titans Go! Starfire recklessly engages Martian Manhunter and attacks him three times from height to KO him (she had a spare attack unused). Hawk KO’s Hawkman from height. Nightwing engages Superboy but can’t hit with is Escrima.
Superboy pushes Dove to height disadvantage and punches Hawk for a fourth wound.
Starfire KO’s a whiffing Superboy.


Unit Summary: The Justice League just didn’t have enough tools or luck against this onslaught. Starfire ended up getting powered up fully and went on a tear. Dove and Hawk’s efficiency supplemented non-Titans Go turns and Kid Flash’s range put Martian Manhunter and Guardian into trouble before they were prepared to be.

UNIT SUMMARY: Though he’s a nice offensive piece to add to the range of effect of a Titan’s Go turn and though I think Nightwing is his best friend (though Wonder Girl (YJ) isn’t a bad one), I don’t credit that second game slaughter to Kid Flash. He didn’t hurt, but the Justice League team probably wasn’t good enough or efficient enough to be competitive in that one on paper and Hawk and Starfire probably had enough offense on Titans Go turns to win it without Kid Flash (though he certainly got his share of wounds). Still, defensive power negation and a figure that can start within 6 spaces of Nightwing and then hit someone 11 spaces away isn’t a bad piece to add to the great Titans toolbox, and shouldn’t come too cheap either. Based on the two game experience, I lean towards 180 feeling about right. Maybe 190 if he looks too strong overall? Raven is better than anyone at 190, but he feels roughly on par with Dove.
