Re: The Book of Zatanna (II) (Vote for Initial Testing)
What exactly does "combat die" reference in the first power? Are you not rolling combat dice when defending or attacking with a normal or special attack?
C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: The Book of Zatanna (II) (Vote for Initial Testing)
Some special powers require to you roll combat dice and the results determine an outcome, but it's not an attack or defense dice roll. Often times rolling a blank has an impact on those powers.

Re: The Book of Zatanna (II) (Vote for Initial Testing)
Do you all feel that's clear mechanically from reading the text? Might be worth an FAQ at least. Maybe "for a special power" would help (even though special attacks are special powers too ).

Re: The Book of Zatanna (II) (Vote for Initial Testing)
I feel it’s pretty clear. Combat dice are used for special powers that aren’t attacks, defense dice are defense, and attack dice for normal attacks. Not opposed to FAQ though.

Re: The Book of Zatanna (II) (Vote for Initial Testing)
We could maybe just shorten it to 'when rolling combat dice' since that alone would cover all 3 uses of the combat dice whether it be on attack, defense, or for a special power.

Re: The Book of Zatanna (II) (Vote for Initial Testing)
Don't have much input (though I like the overall "tricky" vibe here, feels more iconic to the character than the more specific original version), but one thing I'd recommend is avoiding Zatara Shuffle for the third power's name - feels like kind of an obscure reference that clouds the actual connection for most people. Something more like "SLEIGHT OF HAND" feels like the obvious name. And sounds less like a retiree's dance move.

Re: The Book of Zatanna (II) (Vote for Initial Testing)
Yeah, the tricky vibe was definitely something I wanted to have a strong presence.
I’m fine with a different name. MIDIRECTION or something. I’ll do some looking at magic terms for Sleight of Hand and such. |

Force. Though that is pretty generic.

Re: The Book of Zatanna (II) (Vote for Initial Testing)
Gonna go with Sleight of Hand unless we think of something better. That’s what she’s doing after all, and the quickness of it is how she gets the unblockable hit in. It’s also clear on what it happening and is another call out to stage magic much like Trap Door Teleportation offers.
