Would that do the trick?
I'd be tempted to do something more like this:

If they roll 8 or lower, that figure receives 2 wounds and, if it is not destroyed and is a Unique Hero other than an Android or Construct, place a Gamma Marker from this card on its Army Card. Figures with Gamma Markers on their cards gain the Super Strength special power and have the species of Mutate and the class of Creature in addition to what is listed on their cards.
Wordier, but it works a little more like a normal T-Glyph.

Would I want it to be everything I love...sure...but that's just not realistic so I'm going to focus on finding things that will make me unhappy and work on fixing those.

Glad to hear I'm not off-base on that! This will pass tonight, barring any sudden protests (and then there'd have to be a lot of them).

Not sure when/if I'll get to testing. May have to try to do it virtually once I'm home for the holidays.

Tempting to switch to the DO approach, but, yeah, looking at your link I'm not sure I'm moved to incorporate a $5 "vibrating personal massager" into the design.

This passes to Initial Playtesting. I'm hitting the road on Tuesday and will be away from my Scape until the new year, but I'll try to get at least one of these done tonight.
