Pre-game thoughts: Trying to cheat the system by grabbing some different bonding pairs. This build will lose some effectiveness once Cap, Punisher, or Sam goes down, so I imagine the enemy will try to target them. Also worth noting that Castle and Grayson have some pretty juicy powers for Doom to steal, we’ll see how that plays out.

Summary of the game:

Pre-game: Thing loves AMERICA!

Round 1: T2 wins initiative
-While Doom managed to seize control of the bridge, T1 managed to mobilize a ton of figures fairly quickly.
-Doom blasted Cap from on top of the bridge, inflicting two wounds.
-Punisher responded in kind however, giving Victor 2 wounds with his Assault Rifle.

Round 2: T1 wins initiative
-Bucky swoops in, taking the Glyph of Wannok before Kristoff can grab it
-Bucky takes an LEA from Kristoff
-Cap falls for Doom’s Pit Trap, receiving a wound
-Doom steals Cap’s powers
-Robin throws a Batarang at Kristoff, inflicting 2 wounds
-Doom inflicts a wound on Cap with an energy blast
-Kristoff fires at Bucky, inflicting 2 wounds
-Barda finishes Cap off with her Mega-Rod
-Bucky uses the Glyph of Wannok to inflict a wound on a Doombot

Round 3: T1 wins initiative
-Punisher fires a rocket to pierce Doom’s armor, inflicting 1 wound
-Kristoff takes a LEA from Uncle Sam
-Kristoff casts some Mystical Flames, killing Bucky and putting a wound on Sam
-Mr. Miracle takes out Robin in one lucky shot
-Barda inflicts 2 wounds on the Thing
-Uncle Sam throws a mighty right hook at Kristoff, knocking the young ward out for good
-Ben clobbers Barda, dealing 3 wounds
-Doom flies next to Punisher and blasts him, inflicting a wound

Round 4: T2 wins initiative
-T1 decides to go “screw it” and put all their OMs on Punisher. If Doom kills him, then Thing gets to charge in with a boost.
-Doom does attack Castle, inflicting 2 wounds
-Barda inflicts 2 wounds in a powerful strike against Grimm
-Doom is destroyed by Castle and the Doombot fails to save him
-Barda delivers 4 wounds to Grimm, but he ignores them with One More Hand

Round 5: T1 wins initiative
-T1 is repeating the same strategy of all OMs on Punisher, but T2 seemed happy last round to just ignore him and tear down Grimm. We’ll see what happens.
-Punisher scales up height, then fires his Assault Rifle at Scott, inflicting 2 wounds
-Scott strikes Castle, inflicting a wound
-Barda hits the Thing, inflicting 1 wound
-Barda finally brings big Ben down
-Barda also knocks out Punisher
-Miracle escapes over to Uncle Sam, inflicting 2 wounds on the spirit

Round 6: T2 wins initiative
-Scott inflicts another wound on Sam
-Sam deals a wound back to Scott
-Barda inflicts a wound on Sam
-Scott finishes off Sam

Post-game thoughts: Ben did very little here other than just soak up wounds and work as a tie-down figure. In the later game, when it came down to a choice between Punisher and Thing, it just often felt like Castle was the better choice. Still, he did soak up a crapton of attacks that would’ve gone elsewhere, and I think if the OM save aspect had kicked in he could’ve come in pretty clutch.

Pre-game thoughts: Just trying Ben out as a regular brawler with Luke Cage, without worrying about Four Of A Kind. Maybe he can save some OMs when Cage goes down and go on a rampage.

Summary of the game:

-Doom gets the first shot, inflicting a wound on Cage
-Kristoff casts a Lightning Bolt, catching Tigra off guard and inflicting 2 wounds on her
-A fully enraged Tigra swipes at Doom multiple times, but only manages to inflict 1 wound
-Kristoff takes the Glyph of Wannok
-Kristoff uses the Wannok to inflict a wound on Grimm

Round 2: T1 wins initiative
-Tigra assaults Doom again, inflicting enough wounds to kill him…
-But that Doom turned out just to be a decoy
-Tigra then takes out Kristoff in a single swipe of her claws
-Tigra then attacks Doom, inflicting 3 wounds on him as well
-Doom steals Tigra’s powers…
-And uses them against her to take her down

Round 3: T1 wins initiative
-Cage gets caught in Doom’s Pit Trap and flung far away from his bonding partner
-Doom corners Cage and blasts him, inflicting 1 wound
-Doom steals Cage’s power
-Doom and Cage duke it out with their now-equal levels of Superstrength. Doom inflicts 2 wounds on Cage, but Cage ultimately comes out the victor (Heh, Victor) and defeats Doom…
-Who turns out to have just been another Decoy

Round 4: T2 wins initiative
-An enraged Doom charges back into battle one final time
-Meanwhile, Luke and Ben try to regroup
-Luke falls, but Ben steps up to bat
-Doom flees from the slower Grimm
-Ben, not playing his game, stands on the Wannok
-Ben uses the Wannok on Doom

Round 5: T1 wins initiative
-Thing falls into Doom’s Pit Trap
-It’s a classic knock-down, drag-out fistfight. Doom inflicts 1 wound on Thing, but Ben finally clobbers Doom to the ground. KO!

Post-game thoughts: This was fun. Even if Ben didn’t get to use his signature abilities much, he seems like he’d function well as an OM saver in a Cage build, maybe replacing Jessica Jones.

Kristoff didn’t get to cast 3/4 spells he brought, but it was only 15 points worth, so I don’t feel so bad.

THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT'S COST, BALANCE, & DRAFTABILITY: I think he’s viable at 340. He offers the ability to potentially straight-up increase the number of turns you can take, but the strict OM limitations balance that out a bit. He also seems useful in a Luke Cage build even if you don’t want to use Four Of A Kind.

GENERAL THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT: Fun, unique, and simple. (But in the good way!)

Just a thought that came to me in the middle of the second game, but it might be cool to try him as a 5th member of the Wrecking Crew.

Yikes. That could be brutal. 1140 though is upper limits of testing.
Add in Atom and a Skrull Infiltrator at 1200.
Maybe drop a WC member for Thing?

That could make sense. Drop one of the 190 pt Crew members and add in Atom as a backup to throw an OM on when one of the Crew falls. That's an even 1,000.
