Character Bio - He was born John Kreelman in 2150 AD, a mutant warped in the womb by strontium-90 fallout from the nuclear war which had devastated much of Earth earlier that year.
Rebelling against his father's evil, young John ran away to join the Mutant Army under the name 'Johnny Alpha' (because his eyes emitted alpha rays). The members of the Mutant Army were later pardoned for their actions only on condition that they leave Earth forever, becoming galactic bounty hunters based on the orbiting space station known as the Doghouse: Search/Destroy Agents, harshly nicknamed 'Strontium Dogs'
Johnny worked solo at first but later had a number of partners including the late Sniffer Martinez, the vampire woman Durham Red, Middenface McNulty and, most notably, the time-displaced Viking warrior Wulf Sternhammer. ~ britishcomics.fandom.com

STRONTIUM DOGS
When Johnny Alpha attacks or defends against a figure you chose for the Bounty Hunter special power at the start of the game, roll one additional die. After revealing an Order Marker on this card and taking a turn with Johnny Alpha, you may take a turn with any other figure you control with the Bounty Hunter special power. You may not take any additional turns with other figures you control.

ALPHA EYES
Instead of moving Johnny Alpha, you may view all of the unrevealed Order Markers on the card of a figure adjacent to Johnny Alpha. When Johnny Alpha attacks with his normal attack, he does not need clear line of sight and the defending figure does not receive any additional defense dice from terrain.

ALPHA X
If Johnny Alpha is attacked by a non-adjacent figure that does not have the Mental Shield special power, and at least 1 skull is rolled, you may reveal an "X" Order Marker on this card and ignore the attack. Once per game, you may ignore an attack targeting a friendly figure with the Bounty Hunter special power instead of Johnny Alpha.

Should he be a Lawman, or something more like a Hunter? I guess Durham Red is already a Lawman so that's probably already been decided, but figured I'd ask.

Also, what exactly is Alpha X representing? I mostly ask to check whether it should have a space restriction or not - I assume not clear sight if he can, like, see through walls, but if someone's halfway across the map, should he be able to protect them?

The Search & Destroy squad are Lawmen in Strontium Dog. They are given access to incredible technology by the government to hunt down wrong doers, including time travel which he used to join Dredd to defeat the NecroMagus.
Also that is what Durham Red is, so precedent is set.

The only other option would be Agent but I like Lawman better.

He has a sort of sixth sense among his many other mutant powers.
He rarely ever gets wounded, presumably for this reason and his agility though I never saw him as having huge stamina but he can take a punch, thus the 4 Life.
One time he was severely injured in a bad train accident. Wulf went out on his own for revenge and began hunting the saboteur of the train tracks.
Unfortunately Wulf is not very stealthy and he walked into an ambush, he was just about to get attacked when he got a mental warning from Johnny, who was lying in bed miles away and in a coma!
Wulf avoided the attack and got his revenge.

He can also see through walls and has a gun that shoots through walls, the ammo phases in and out.

Consistent, Teddy and Durham Red set the precedent for Rad-Mutant and Lawman.

Medium 5. The figure is crouched way down but looks to be normal Human HeroClix size. Johnny is of average height in the comics.

7. Consider the listed Life number. Is this number consistent with other figures of the same species?
4 Life is low for a Rad-Mutant but there are only two others and one has vampire like powers and the other is super tough teddy bear so not the greatest comparison. Overall I have never seen him to be super tough just hard to hit.

8. Consider the listed Move number. Is this number consistent with other figures of that power level?
6 Move feels right for Johnny who is very athletic.

9. Consider the listed Range and Attack numbers. Is this number consistent with other figures that use the same type of weapon or power to attack?
6 Range. Johnny has high tech weapons. Higher tech than Dredd as Johnny is from Dredd's future so higher than 6 could be justified. It usually carries two guns. Long and short range. This design is more of blend at 6 and features ammo that can shoot though walls, it phases in and out at specified distances.
4 Attack is probably low, he has access to some high powered ammo. This represents his more standard ammo and he will often get a +1 from Strontium Dogs and there are always stat boosters, also his many abilities will make him deadly at range.


10. Consider the listed Defense number. Is this number consistent with other figures of the same or similar species and with the same or similar armor or other defensive equipment?
6. This guy like never gets hits. He will often have 7 Defense via Strontium Dogs.

11. Does the figure have Super Strength? If it does or doesn’t, was this determined on the standard of that character demonstrating three things: A. The ability to throw a car B. The ability to survive a fall from a tall building and C. The ability to knock back another person when punching them?

12. Examine all of the special powers. Are there other powers that fit the same theme already in existence in the project? If so, can they be reused? If they can’t, can those other powers be used as a basis for the mechanics and wording?
I have been working on this design a long time and I am really happy with this set of powers. I think it reflects most of his abilities. My only complaint is that he is diminished when not run with a Bounty Hunter but they are fairly cheap so far that is not a huge burden to have one in your army.

13. Examine any movement powers. Do they keep the figure’s speed consistent with other figures of their species and power level?

14. Examine any offensive powers. Do they keep the figure’s offensive potential consistent with other figures with the same powers and power levels or skills and weaponry?
yes

Yes, Alpha X is cool but not nearly as good as other defensive powers that end the figure's turn.

No, simple bonding with tiny set of figures all currently fairly low cost.
