Re: Sports: NFL
There had been rumors that the Bears were in trade talks to get Stafford, but I don't think they could afford that.

Re: Sports: NFL
I’m hoping that instead Rodgers gets traded to the AFC. Lions might have a shot at winning the division again if none of the teams have a particularly reliable QB.

Re: Sports: NFL
That would have been cool. Would have more opportunity to watch him if he played for the Bears. LA just feels meh to me but I have never followed the team too closely.

Re: Sports: NFL
He's gross; he should have been tossed from the league years ago. So is Tyreek Hill, but somehow nobody seems to remember that, when his name comes up. I understand that sometimes teams sign players who turn out to be scumbags, but both of those guys were well known as piles of manure before their current teams inked them.
Brady isn't as unpleasant to watch this year, now that at least he isn't on the same team as the repugnant Belichick, but from my perspective the heels from both conferences managed to get to the Super Bowl. I am just not interested. |

Re: Sports: NFL
Haven’t watched a single game this year and don’t plan to. I vaguely follow the Lions. League as a whole could fold tomorrow and I’d say good riddance.

Re: Sports: NFL
That's a pretty good deal for Detroit. Two 1st round picks will certainly help the new coach rebuilt the team in his image, while also getting a young experienced QB to use as your bridge. If Goff puts it all together they can just stick with him, if he never improves they can draft a replacement QB after building up other aspects of the team.
One of the worse things new coaches/GM's do is draft a QB first when rebuilding. Then that QB has no O-line, no weapons, and no defense, so he ends up losing games and loses all confidence in himself. The franchise QB is something you should be trying to land half way into the rebuild. Look at the Chiefs right now. They built a decent team up around Alex Smith, then grabbed their future at QB in the middle of the 1st. Let him sit a year and learn, then handed him the keys to a team with a solid foundation already in place. Detroit could do something similar. |

Re: Sports: NFL
I'm sure the Bills would have liked those calls on the Chief's defense.

Re: Sports: NFL
I really don't care about the officiating. I didn't like either team, I didn't like the game itself, I didn't like the ads, and I didn't like the halftime show. Overall, it was miserable enough to be a fine capstone on the regular season of 2020.
