FYI
Sounds like he would still do well in an Ozy + Commander Rogers build.

Re: C3G Strategy/Competitive Discussion (The Joker 1)
Man, Ozy/Joker is a combo I need to keep away from my friends. That sounds like it might be one of the most frustrating comps in the game to go against!
Playing against this guy feels like when an enemy in a video game reverses your controls. It’s not actively dealing damage to you, but it’s really frustrating, and you’ll probably get messed up because your controls/markers are all out of whack. :P |

Re: C3G Strategy/Competitive Discussion (The Joker 1)
Yeah, between Imposing Presence on Darkseid, Count Vertigo's denial powers, and Reorganizing Chaos here, and heck, even Stray on Catwoman and Grundy's ability to resurrect, I'm realizing we really leaned into powers that frustrated and impaired the enemy for our initial set of villains.
C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: C3G Strategy/Competitive Discussion (Solomon Grundy)
He's slow but solid. He's at his best if you try to lead out with him and force your enemy to target him, then maximize your chances to bring him back again and again.
You could pair him with figures that work well as second waves or with other figures that keep coming back (like Jason) for maximum annoyance. C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Trying to Remember
Dok did this once. It's a super clever idea.

Re: C3G Strategy/Competitive Discussion (Solomon Grundy)
Grundy is the old trope of the big slow heavy hitter. being an Undead Creature gives him some synergy with those tags, but nothing that he really stands out with. I think running him the way Bats said is his best bet, throwing him out on the frontline, praying he does some damage, and start rolling for his comeback while the rest of your army starts to do their thing.
I know I said his synergies are nothing special, but pairing him with Judge Death is pretty fun. Death Sentence activates Grundy, and the two can revive each other pretty easily (Grundy's monstrous attack makes Death Never Dies easy to activate, and Death can teleport away to buy time until succeeding on Grundy's roll) |

Re: C3G Strategy/Competitive Discussion (Solomon Grundy)
I would say that is easier said than done.
Death Sentence requires one to destroy a figure to get the bonding rolling 2 attack. Death's Teleport can be shut down by putting a few wounds on him. If Grundy dies with Death on his card you are all done so you will need some sort of backup. Problem is these two together are nearly 600 points. Frankenstein is going to be a more reliable teammate. |

Re: C3G Strategy/Competitive Discussion (Solomon Grundy)
Grundy, Judge Death, and Jason are 760. Wonder what'd be good to add to that for a 1,000 point army?

Re: C3G Strategy/Competitive Discussion (Solomon Grundy)
Forgot about Death not being able to teleport if he has some wounds! That definitely makes his life harder. I'm sure with some more support it would be workable though.
Noob Saibot + his shadow rounds that army out to 1000, but not sure if I would consider them the best choice. Gentleman Ghost is an interesting choice for another reviving figure, although you're left with 75 points in that case, and I'm not too sure how I would fill that out. Maybe a strong ranged unit could help that army out, keeps them from being purely melee. |
