Besides picking one item in my multiple posts to marginalize the points is kind of unfair. Especially since you specifically stated the following in your argument here... Either you care what they are called in universe or you don't... Would I want it to be everything I love...sure...but that's just not realistic so I'm going to focus on finding things that will make me unhappy and work on fixing those. |

Re: C3G Dredd'verse workshop
I agree with YodaKing's interpretation of how Professor X and Magneto would handle Mutants regardless of their origin universe. However, I have to be on japes' side here in that the standard has already been set long ago, whether we like it or note. Numerous Mutates and Metahumans in our game would be good Mutant candidates, but the bridge has been crossed. However, if we're breaking ground with the Dredd'verse mutation-types, I'd be perfectly fine considering all of those characters to be Mutants as well, as long as we stick with it going forward.

Re: C3G Dredd'verse workshop
I see your point on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles being referred to as Mutants in their universe, but the science behind their existence is much different. They weren't born mutants, they were born turtles that were then mutated into the giant upright walking, talking TMNT we know and love. Had I been a hero when that discussion was taking place I would have argued again making them mutants in C3G due to the comic book science involved. Mutants in Marvel are born humans born with a genetic mutation, not something non-human transformed into humanoid creatures. I don't know the 2000 AD story well enough to be any kind of expert, but my understanding was they were also humans who were born with a mutation, this time from nuclear fall-out (akin to the mutants in Schwarzenegger's Total Recall who were exposed to something on Mars that led to mutations in the human genome upon birth) instead of a genetic anomaly. As such I see the two different comic book worlds 'mutants' to be similar enough to consider them distant cousins. If that understanding about how the 2000AD mutants came to be is wrong then I may change my position.

Re: C3G Dredd'verse workshop
It would be good to know if 2000 AD are scientifically similar types of Mutants (born with it) rather than a different sort (Mabeline ... er, um, mutated over time after birth). If it's the latter, I'd say Mutation makes more sense, and if the former, Mutant.
C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Also there are plenty of DC figures thAt were born with it that could justifiably be said would naturally call in with X-Men of magneto...but they didnt. Not really seeing a difference here. I could see a definite case for Mutants here. That said, if Tornado doesn't want them to have the Mutant synergy, he cares about 2000 AD waaaaaaaaaay more than anyone else I've seen posting on here, so I'm happy to back his play pretty much no matter what. C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: C3G Dredd'verse workshop
No not like marvel mutants...marvel mutants have no bearing on what happened to their parents...it was a naturally occurring thing.

Re: C3G Dredd'verse workshop
Sure, the first generation is different. But after that it's a genetic mutation.

Re: C3G Dredd'verse workshop
A lot of Marvel mutants became mutants because their parents were exposed to radioactive materials, and that's why there's a boom in the mutant population in the modern age. That's not the cause of the X-gene, but it's a factor in whether or not a child will be born with it.
(As I remember, anyway. Could be wrong. Technically I think it all goes back to the Celestials anyway, so it's somewhat unnatural evolution) |

Re: C3G Dredd'verse workshop
I see 3 options. You could read a Durham Red comic or proceed on pure speculation or listen to the one person that has read almost every comic Red has appeared in.
Red and Johnny exist in the future compared to Dredd. Their mutations are from Strontium fallout. Johnny was exposed while in the womb. Little is known of Red's early days. Even her true name is unknown. |

Re: C3G Dredd'verse workshop
No it's not a biologically transferred thing....non mutant parents with no genetic predisposition or dormant traits can have a mutant child...just like mutant parents can have "normal" children...so the generation has no bearing.
