Re: The Book of Lost Land T-Rex ( Public Playtesting )
They were in reality too.
That doesn't seem to be the case in 2000AD though.... |

Re: The Book of Lost Land T-Rex ( Public Playtesting )
Including in the Dinosaur Island story that's the (current) theme for this, right? (going on the art in the OP).
Edit: Is this a 2000 AD design? It keeps switching, which makes it hard to agree on the theme of it. Doing a design in reverse (mechanics first, then finding a character to fit) is pretty unusual (and probably for a reason). C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: The Book of Lost Land T-Rex ( Public Playtesting )
I brought up the other species of dino's angle before, gives you different sizes, strength levels, and powers to explore, but I believe T's goal is specifically a T-Rex horde. I assumed it was 2000AD related theme.
For me personally, I had a bucket of generic dino toys as a kid and really liked the little shell covered tank like one with the mace tail and the triceratops. They were easier to envision battling each other or against my army men figures than the ones with just spikes along the back. It's probably why I picked up the Triceratops Dinobot figure a few months back. Raptors didn't become a thing until after Jurassic Park came out. As for that movie, I really liked the one that killed Newman. I think he spit acid or something. |

Re: The Book of Lost Land T-Rex ( Public Playtesting )
If you all want other Dinos, please, I beg you, LD them!!
The simple fact is, since Beast Boy, I am the only one running Dino LDs. (Forgot about Lace though.) So far they have been all 2000AD and mostly T-Rex because that is what is in 2000AD. Old One Eye is a T-Rex, her son Satanus and grandson Golgotha are of course T-Rex. Gorehead, T-Rex. Bob & Carol, T-Rex, that is what they are. The big three, Old One Eye and her kin lead almost exclusively T-Rex (they all have packs!), with the exception being Old One Eye when she gets multiple species, including giant spiders to follow her into battle. I could have made these a different species but that does not fit Golgotha whom they are mostly designed for and also for Old One Eye and maybe Satanus depending on how this all plays out. I find it interesting that some of you think you know how T-Rex operated despite them going extinct 65 million years ago. We can speculate at best. I personally believe it was an apex scavenger. That really does not matter as these designs are based off of T-Rex in comics! I could care less about the origin. I thought Valiant would be cool to help fill that out but apparently that did not mesh for LV, so I tried Dynamite and that was not OK because Dynamite has not been used. Mars T-Rex is too unique according to Bats, so I went with DC and Dinosaur Island. We could go Sauron Valley or the more generic Juvenile T-Rex and make them 2000AD. Whatever will quell the masses is fine by me. Would love to see some of this passion result in someone else running a Dino LD. |

Re: The Book of Lost Land T-Rex ( Public Playtesting )
I'd be glad to take this design over for you, T. However, I should warn you that I'll want to give it some special powers for dino flavor and probably raise the points.

People are struggling with this because you say the T-Rexes are based off comics but it’s unclear which comics, so how can we contribute to the design? A lunchbox approach to T-Rexes has been rejected by the LD and anything more specific has yet to clearly take hold or provide comic book rationale for the mechanics. If you are basing these on comics you need to care about their origins. Which comic books they’re from matter. We need that compass to direct things. C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: The Book of Lost Land T-Rex ( Public Playtesting )
If we’re going with the Juvenile T-Rex route, I want to make that really clear. Whatever comics have baby T-Rexes in them, that’s what I think they should be based off of.
