Was thinking on this one and was considering this change to the first power:

Re: The Book of Mon-El (Superman Family) (Wait 4 Public Test
I’m not sure I see the value of the +6 to the roll part but the rest of the power is cool. (can’t check for card space right now)

Re: The Book of Mon-El (Superman Family) (Wait 4 Public Test
So its trying to play off the 1-2 punch theme or the throwing into the wall/tree extra damage thing, but keeping it more even there. +6 felt like a nice point for borderline guaranteed without just completely negating the die roll. I could see some merit to just dropping the dice roll and triggering the wound specifically on the Super Strength/DO placement.

Re: The Book of Mon-El (Superman Family) (Wait 4 Public Test
Bats did note that Superman was misplayed in the second game. Card hadn't been updated with Daxamite added to it, so Mon-El wasn't benefitting from the bonding there.

Spoiler Alert!
___________________________________________________________ THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT'S COST, BALANCE, & DRAFTABILITY: He can definitely manipulate the battlefield quite well, hard to find safe spaces to avoid his Kinetic Throw. Melee attackers without a lot of movement can really struggle, as can those who have bonding/synergy tied to range. Felt close to me. 350 at least, maybe even 360 to be safe with all wins in the initial. |

Re: The Book of Mon-El (Superman Family) (Wait 4 Public Test
Hmm. Don't know that there's an easy fix to keep him at the points he's at, maybe something to lean more 350 over 360. Not the end of the world if he goes that high, but does make the Kara pairing a tad tougher in the family (but that may just be something to fulfill more with like a Brainy 5 later). Unless anyone has ideas for helping lean safer to 350, I think I'd feel comfortable moving him ahead.

Re: The Book of Mon-El (Superman Family) (Wait 4 Public Test
Only things I could imagine making a difference would be dropping his life or defense by 1, or lowering the amount of spaces he can toss someone. As-is, he can exhaust all of those spaces easily.
Example 1 (Aquaman's figure repping Mon-El): Near the end of his movement, he can easily throw those figures at the center way back to their start zone, which on maps larger than Chernobyl which is one of our smallest, can be even more devastating. Even Cap, who is right next to him in this example, can get tossed pretty far back. Example 2: This is an example of his threat range with it, and how hard it is to avoid. Since it's not just a matter of having to choose someone on the line he moved on, but rather he can choose any one figure he was adjacent to during the move, he can throw those along the 2 lines running parallel, which covers a ton of space. So in this case, Luke Cage is trying to make his way back to the fight after being tossed back to Mon-El's start zone to disrupt his 6 space bonding, and make him practically useless for those turns with his 5 move and range of 1. He has to consider if there's even a spot he can safely end his movement or else risk getting thrown again. He's probably one of the best tossers in the game for that reason, and a 10 or higher isn't super hard to hit on the roll for the follow up wound, which can make for an easy 2 if you threw them adjacent to a tree. So 360 makes sense as sort of a floor given his potential, especially given how strong his default faction is. Only way to reel that back in, is make him more vulnerable, or to decrease the effectiveness of the throw. Making it maybe a move of 4 spaces, for example, keeping the double, could work. Or just dropping the double and making it equal to the spaces moved. |

Re: The Book of Mon-El (Superman Family) (Wait 4 Public Test
Alright, I'm thinking of going to Final Editing, but thought I'd poll out preferences:
A Final Editing at 350, dropping the movement on the Throw at 4 spaces, keeping the double. B Final Editing at 350, keep 7 move, drop the double. C Final Editing at 340, 5 space move, double, must pass over foe to throw (thus limiting lines of effectiveness. D Any combination of the above E One of the above changes, but wait for one more test. |
