So ... is this ready for a test? I've got a clear slate for tomorrow, Beyonder and Red Skull are claimed, there's no public design yet, and I don't think Mandarin is ready.

COMMANDO BACKUP: Dum Dum Dugan may add 1 to his Move if can end his movement adjacent to a figure engaged with another Agent you control. Dum Dum Dugan adds 1 to his Attack when attacking an adjacent figure engaged with another Agent you control.


And yes, this looks like it is ready to be tested to me. This is a good design. Nothing too fancy. And Marksman has just the right amount of ingenuity.

C3G PLAY TEST FEEDBACK FORM

NAME OF THE TEST UNIT Dum Dum Dugan

- THEME TEST/ Check to see if there are any powers or stats on the test unit card that does not accurately reflect the theme or likeness of what the character would and could do. Also consider destructible objects, and whether or not this characters powers should affect them.
PASS

- MIRROR TEST/ Check to see if the unit were played against itself, if there would be any loops that would upset the balance of the Game.

- BONDING TEST/ Compare the unit card with all possible currently existing Bonding abilities to make sure there are no continual Bonding possibilities that do not stop appropriately or do not stop at all. This is to prevent loops in Bonding.

PASS. He has some versatility and potential that I think will really come into play with Nick Fury.

PASS. He's not THAT strong, but he's got options that make you wary of what he can do/can help his team do.

- DRAFTING TEST/ Consider whether or not this design is worth drafting.
PASS. Though mostly with Agents to maximize his powers, otherwise he's a little on the expensive side for just a long-range specialist.

- USAGE TEST/ Consider whether or not all of the powers on this card were used or at least usable.
PASS. Unfortunate circumstances aside *cough*Jean*cough* granting SHIELD Agents disengage to set up a Kill Box after they've used Cover Fire to engage opponents is a threat, and long range sniping is always useful.

- STRATEGY TEST/ Consider whether or not the design offers any real strategy or interesting tactics to the overall game.
PASS. Good for sniping at enemies from behind your own lines then smashing anyone who threatens them with a big attack.

- Heavy Hitter or Mid-Level Hero/ Does it pass, Yes or No? What should be the unit's point value? Give a brief summary.
Dum Dum Dugan goes 4-1, but had incredible dice luck in the last two matches. 1-on-1 vs other Ranged figures, he actually struggles since they can come after him if he uses a weak attack. He can kite melee figures fairly well, though.

TEST 1
Map: Freehanded; Units: Toad
Round 1, Triple D gets first shot (naturally) from 8 Range with 3 dice (height), putting 1 wound on Toad. Toad's Tongue misses. DDD rushes Toad to keep his Tongue out of the equation, but misses. Toad's Phlegm puts 1 wound on Dugan. Round 2, Dum Dum punches Toad down to 1 Life. Toad's Phlegm fails and Dugan gets a KO through the opening.
Dum Dum Dugan wins with 3 Life remaining.

TEST 2
Map: Freehanded; Units: Toad
Round 1 begins exactly the same way with DDD using Marksmanship to put 1 wound on Toad from 8 spaces out. This time Lash is successful, but Toad's poor roll from height only nets 1 wound on DDD's whiff. Toad's Defense roll is much better, avoiding 3 skulls. Phlegm fails, but Initiative switches for Round 2 and he hits DDD for 1 (2 Life) on the second try. DDD puts Toad down with an unblocked 4 skulls.
DDD wins with 2 Life.

TEST 3
Map: Freehanded; Units: Penguin
DDD starts with the same tactic: 3 dice from 8 Range, but Peguin blocks. Penguin is then only able to get into range for his normal attack, which is also blocked. DDD opts for trying to stay away from a Copter-Boosted Gun, and so retreats, firing a single die from maximum range and scoring a hit on Penguin! Penguin's normal attack puts 3 wounds right back on DDD, though. Initiative goes Penguin's way in Round 2 and he immediately follows up with the Umbrella Gun, finishing DDD off.
Penguin wins with 3 Life remaining.

TEST 4
Map: Freehanded; Units: Sinestro Corps Soldier
Round 1 DDD continues to get first shot, but SCS blocks. SCS fires, also blocked. SCS takes 2 hits but keeps his Power Markers. Then he misses DDD again. DDD blocks a third attack at the beginning of Round 2. SCS burns a marker to stay alive, but now he's forced to go after DDD with shortened Range. DDD refuses to be hit. SCS burns his last marker and engages DDD. Still no damage. DDD whoops SCS's ass.
DDD wins at full Life.

TEST 5
Map: Freehanded; Units: Sinestro Corps Soldier
Finally someone goes before DDD in Round 1. DDD's first attack, however, puts 2 hits on SCS. DDD meets 2 skulls with 2 shields. SCS opts to simply block the one skull of return fire. DDD meets 3 skulls with 3 shields! SCS blows a marker at the en of the round, then DDD get the other at the start of Round 3. DDD puts up exactly one shield to block SCS's one skull, then puts the poor thing out of its misery.
DDD wins with full Life.

Units: DDD vs Hand Ninja x1+1 (~113)
DDD wins Initiative and gets the first attack from 8 spaces out but whiffs. Ninja advance, but can't get any shots. DDD retreats and fires again, blocked. Ninja come after him, getting a 3-skull attack, which he blocks from height. DDD gets his first Ninja kill, then they surround him and hit for 2. 4 skulls mean another Ninja can't even defend himself. The last two Ninja engage DDD and bring him to 1 Life. DDD kills a Ninja, leaving one who misses him. The next and final round starts with DDD at 1 vs 1 Ninja. The Ninja wins Initiative but Dugan blocks and destroys him.
Winner: Dum Dum at One One.

Units: SHIELD Agents x3, Dum Dum, Human Torch (665) vs HYDRA Agents x3, Madame Hydra, Deadpool


SHIELD wins Initiative and sends its Agents forward. HYDRA advances as well. SHIELD takes first shot at MH, but misses. They lose an Agent in the return fire. SHIELD uses height to take out two HYDRA, bringing up two more in the Cover Fire. They had to put themselves into Venomous Strike range, but they live through that, only to lose one to HYDRA. Next Initiative win, Johnny flies up and takes out a HYDRA. MH takes a dangerous spot to throw some Strikes and it doesn't pay off. The lead SHIELD Agent just refuses to let anyone touch him. Johnny gets another HDYRA via Necessary Sacrifices. He also hits MH with a swipe and she fails yet another Strike. HYDRA gets a wound on Johnny before he moves in to go Supernova. MH Sacrifices another HYDRA to live, netting Johnny 3 HYDRA. Shaken by the blast, MH whiffs her attack. Powerless Johnny takes two damage. With no one left to Sacrifice, MH takes a hit and allows a SHIELD to move up on their Initiative win. MH and her HYDRA fail at life. MH gets reduced to critical, while SHIELD continues advancing. Deadpool finishes off Johnny and a SHIELD. SHIELD takes out MH and a HYDRA. Deadpool kills another SHIELD. Winning Initiative again, SHIELD swarms Deadpool and hits for 1 (which he Heals at the end of his turn). Deadpool clears two SHIELD off him. DDD comes to the rescue with a big three wounds from long range. Deadpool drops two more SHIELD and Heals. Dugan whiffs to make up for his previous attack. Deadpool hits DDD for two and removes his own two wounds. DDD isn't going down without a fight, and puts 2 on Deadpool again at the beginning of the next round. However, Deadpool kills him and it's only a matter of time before the last SHIELD dies, too.
Winner: Team HYDRA with full-health Deadpool and 1 squad of HYDRA. After this test, I have a couple ideas for making DDD more useful. Make the following changes to Commando Backup:
Dum Dum Dugan may add 1 to his Move if can end his movement adjacent to a figure engaged with another Agent you control. Agents you control do not take leaving engagement attacks from figures engaged with Dum Dum Dugan. Dum Dum Dugan adds 1 to his Attack when attacking an adjacent figure engaged with another Agent you control.

Units: Dum Dum Dugan, SHIELD Agents x3, Jean Grey, Batman (800) vs Count Vertigo, Magneto, Thaal Sinestro

Count Vertigo makes the first move, covering his allies' advance. For Team SHIELD, it's Jean, who fails to bring DDD with her. Thaal comes up next and obliterates Jean in one roll. Batman throws a good Batarang at Thaal, but he blocks it. Magneto flies up as well, but is just out of range and keeps his Shield up. SHIELD Agents open fire on Thaal, scoring 2 wounds. Vertigo goes first again, really bringing his powers into play now and attacking and killing one SHIELD. SHIELD puts a wound on Count Vertigo. Thaal rolls almost all skulls again to kill another SHIELD. SHIELD engage Thaal and Vertigo, destroying the latter and missing the former. Magneto moves forward, keeping his Shield up, and hitting Batman for one from outside his Range. DDD Backs Up the Agent harassing Thaal and adds a wound. Thaal takes the lead now, burning a marker to FoF DDD twice, but only managing one wound! (Must've used up all his skulls already.) Batman moves over to punch Thaal but whiffs. This time Thaal finishes DDD with his two FoF attacks. Agents scare the rest of the markers off Thaal with big attacks, but can't kill him. Magneto lowers his Shield to throw two SHIELD face-down in a ditch.* SHIELD retaliates, whiffing two attacks then scoring 1 hit on the third. Magneto's rolls come up poorly this time, Throwing one Agent but not killing it and missing another, for a bad start to round 4 for the villains. Batman puts Thaal on his last Life. Magneto fails two more Throws. Agents attack Magneto while his Shield is down, for one more wound. Magneto Throws for another kill, then misses. Batman tries to Batarang both bad guys, but engaged Thaal lives so he doesn't get a shot at Magneto. Villains continue to win Initiative, and Magneto Throws two Agents, killing one. The remaining squad of Agents kill Thaal and bring Mangeto to 1. Magneto puts up his Shield, retreats, and blasts Batman for 2 (1 remaining). Batman's Batarang is easily deflected, then Magneto finishes him. Going first yet again (every round), Magneto decides it's a good idea to keep his Shield in place, and barely blasts one SHIELD. Magneto defends himself. Another Agent dies, leaving one. The last Agent wins the battle for SHIELD with 3 skulls vs a whiff.
Winner: 1 SHIELD Agent.
Jean being completely annihilated in the first attack of the game didn't help DDD show off his Kill Box-assisting skills, but he did about as well as you could expect for a mid-range Hero against heavy hitters: a little damage and survived a couple attacks. While he hasn't really been used to his full potential, I think it will be realized once Nick Fury is directing SHIELD.*Just realized Magneto had been throwing the advancing Agents in the same couple low-ground "ditches" making for an awful Holocaust reference.

Well he beat the 110 point Sinestro Soldier twice and the 120 Penguin beat him once.... so I think 120 is probably more accurate.

Don't forget though that while DDD didn't get to use his other power, SCS wasn't using all of his, and Penguin didn't have a drawback.

Not to mention the INSANE luck difference in tests 4 and 5. SCS had height almost the entirety of both games, but couldn't land a hit (67.9% chance of at least one wound for 5A vs 4D).
