This one actually needs the timing of when you choose the figure specified. Otherwise, it creates ambiguities when figures get moved around by special powers that trigger during the attack.

Kind of an interesting game for Wondy. As the two teams advanced on each other, Wondy went out first for Carol's team and bore the brunt of a couple Flame Ons, getting her up to 4 wounds quickly.

But the big turning point came early on, when Reed rolled up a critical whiff for Fantastic Leader 4 just before he could advance with the rest of the FF, leaving him stuck between a rock and a hard place. He could either advance and tie down Wondy, but leave himself out of Invisible Woman's aura, or hang back, giving Wondy an assassination opportunity, but saving his own skin.

Reed went with option two, and Wondy jumped in and killed Sue dead. That was pretty much the end of Wondy's more offensive career, but she did stick around for a really long time due to continued defensive excellence (several 4-shield rolls), which absorbed a lot of attacks and helped give the eventual win to Team Carol.

Wondy did get a chance to attack the Thing, but came up with lackluster attack rolls, and Thing took her out. Carol and Wally took down the Torch and took off most of Reed's Life while the FF were busy with Wondy, and they managed to clean up without too much trouble after she went down.

Unit Summary:

This one is a pretty ugly affair. The X-Men are rolling hot with a lot of big attack rolls. Most of team one is not. Red Skull gets the chance to draw first blood, but goes down hard after whiffing a couple attack rolls and losing the Cube. Captain America likewise disappoints.

Wonder Woman does decently for herself, though. As sole effective attacker on her team, she's fighting uphill, but she does take out Beast and Cyclops (who strayed a bit out of Psychic Defense range in order to put down Cap and Skull). Unfortunately, she can only do so much, and eventually gets taken out by Jean and Iceman.

Zemo, unsurprisingly, fails to turn the tide as a solo act.

Unit Summary:

THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT'S COST, BALANCE, & DRAFTABILITY: She feels pretty accurate at 370. Should just take some more testing to really nail the cost down, but I doubt she'll stray too far from that. Really like the mechanics here.

GENERAL THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT: Love the berzerker dynamic here. Feels like a fun take for a more New 52 influenced Wonder Woman (which is, I think, what you're shooting for).

Summary

ROUND 1: Wonder Woman charges in out of the gate. Reed and Ben are joined by Northstar, who hits Star-Lord for two, but Diana charges in, dealing four wounds to the Thing with a single attack. Reed wraps up her up but takes a wound from her training.

ROUND 2: Aurora makes a dumb attack but somehow manages to hit Diana for three. Reed tries to do the same, but takes another for his inexperience. But Diana is unperturbed - she goes for Ben again and finishes him off, wounding Aurora in the process. The Twin Light Blast and Aurora together bring Star-Lord up to 4 wounds, but Reed again takes a wound trying to damage Wonder Woman. Black Canary comes in and, despite Aurora being on height, Cries loud enough to finish her. Northstar decides to take out Star-Lord.

ROUND 3: Northstar and Reed manage to unleash Diana's Fury, but can't finish her off - she cuts through Northstar like butter. Reed's final attack does nothing, and she takes him out next turn.

Who won?: Galactic League wins; 4 Wounds on Wonder Woman, Star-Lord destroyed, all others unharmed, 3 Rounds.

Thoughts: Ouch. Wonder Woman is a tough target to fight - she got height on the Thing and took him out before he could react, and then the rest of the army just couldn't stand up to her. The bonus dice from Star-Lord added insult to injury as she took everything the enemy could give her. I guess that's why you never run the FF without Sue...

Summary

ROUND 1: Captain America is Ronan's Accused. The two teams converge pretty early, with a LOT of Kree moving around thanks to Ronan. The other team moves a bit more slowly.

ROUND 2: The Scouts fire on Cap while Mar-Vell goes after Diana, but takes a wound in response. Cap and Bucky take out a Soldier. Mar-Vell decides Cap is the biggest target and flies in to attack. Cap takes two wounds in total. Wonder Woman and Wolverine take out three of the four Scouts.

ROUND 3: Cap takes a wound from Mar-Vell's Awareness as Ronan smashes Diana for one wound. Wolvie finishes off the last Scout while Armor punches out a Soldier. Mar-Vell pushes Cap to the brink. Wonder Woman smashes Ronan hard, though, bringing him down to 1 Life... which lets loose a flood of Soldiers! Ronan hits Wolvie for three, then the Soldiers... do nothing.

ROUND 4: Captain America swings at Mar-Vell and misses his mark, so he died. Wonder Woman can't kill Ronan. Mar-Vell with height and Ronan's help disintegrates Wolverine. He then turns on Wonder Woman, who goes up to 4 Wounds and is Furious. Bucky is killed by some Soldiers.

ROUND 5: She manages to finish off Ronan, then brings Mar-Vell up to 3 Wounds. He attacks, bringing Wonder Woman up to her last Life... but she swings and he whiffs! Mar-Vell is down!

ROUND 6: Wondie flies in and starts to tear through the leftover Soldiers. At the start of the round, there are four left. She kills one, but another manages to grab the Nega-Bands, fly into battle, and finish off Diana. (He then dies.) Wonder Girl comes into finish one off, but another wounds her.

ROUND 7: The final Soldier deals no damage to her and Wonder Girl finishes the job.

Who won?: Avenger Generations wins; 1 Wound on Wonder Girl, Armor unharmed, all others destroyed, 7 Rounds.

Thoughts: Much better game this time, tons of fun, loved the switch on Wonder Woman. Game ebbed and flowed in both directions. Everyone had a role (except for Wolverine who died tragically too soon). Diana feels great against other figures in the 300-400 range.

THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT'S COST, BALANCE, & DRAFTABILITY: Tough to get a pin on it but I'd say she's in the 370-390 range. She combines the best parts of the "tricky, dodgey, counter strikey" unit with the "fly in and smash super hard." The tough part is that it's almost entirely in your opponent's hands. I'd definitely draft her, even if she can't really ever be as consistent as more specialized units.

GENERAL THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT: She feels very different from the original - less strategic, less hit-and-run, more smash and punch and destroy with passive defenses up. She's not the most exciting or novel unit I've ever played - like I said, she's pretty much a flying brick with a twist - but she feels very Amazonian and Wonder Woman in a new way so I'm happy with her.

J’onn burns a marker to take command. Diana starts by slamming Psylocke’s face into the tarmac, knocking her out, before rounding on Gorgon, punching him for a wound. J’onn strikes Gorgon for two wounds.
Gorgon circles Diana to claim equal height with J’onn, striking him for a wound. Magneto attempts two throws but only manages one, pulling Diana towards him and inflicting a wound on the Amazon Princess.
Diana moves to equal height with Magneto and strikes two blows on the Mutant agitator, the first one scraping a wound in, the second being blocked.
Magneto throws Wonder Woman around like a rag-doll, killing her. Gorgon is out of the Professor’s range, and Destiny advances.
J’onn attempts to strike Gorgon, but he predicts the blow, and gets his own in instead, wounding the Martian.

Round Three

The League claims the initiative. J’onn burns his third marker, and calls Shayera in. She attempts to strike Gorgon with a Hawk Swoop attack of eight, but he predicts her actions, and his blade clips her wing as she flies in, inflicting a wound and ending her turn. While he’s distracted, though, J’onn smashes Tomi Shishido for a colossal three wounds, knocking the Mutant terrorist backwards three spaces.
Magneto flies up to where Gorgon once was, and throws Hawkgirl around him, keeping her close by and inflicting two wounds. Destiny advances, and fires her crossbow at Hawkgirl, it finds its mark and Shayera blanks, the crossbow bolt embedding itself in the Thanagarian’s throat, killing her and knocking out the Justice League’s next turn.
Xavier advances, his wheels squelching in the swampy water.
Batman Grapples forwards and punches Magneto from low ground, miraculously inflicting two wounds, despite the mutant’s gigantic defence.
Erik moves to low ground and tosses Batman aside, inflicting two wounds. Gorgon charges in, slashing at J’onn with Godkiller, who fortunately phases just at the right time, utterly avoiding the blow.

Round Four

The Mutants claim the intitiative, and Gorgon slashes J’onn with Godkiller, stunningly to no effect! That’s two attacks of 9 blocked in a row! Magneto tosses Batman around, killing him.
J’onn strikes Gorgon, but is blocked.
Gorgon and Magneto both strike J’onn, who only takes a single wound from Gorgon.
J’onn attempts to strike Gorgon, but Gorgon is faster, inflicting a wound on the Martian.
Gorgon cuts J’onn down.

Mutants victorious - Professor X unwounded, Destiny unwounded, Magneto 3 wounds, Gorgon 5 wounds.

Overview: Well, that was quick and brutal. I'll be the first to admit, that''s pretty bloody deadly mutant team, and it left the Justice League with a pretty tall order. Considering how easily Shayera went down and how deadly all the mutants were (even Destiny for God's sake!), they did pretty well. Wonder Woman did pretty well here, inflicting a grand total of 8 wounds, even though she went down pretty quickly. She felt possibly a little overpriced here, but that could just be circumstances as she did fall fairly easily and was unable to use Amazon Training because of the nasty things being thrown at her - it will certainly make her a beast against lower level figures.

And here's the rest:

- Theme Test - Tentative Pass - I only know her from the Justice League/Justice League Unlimited cartoons, so I can't say too much here, but Amazon Training felt perfect, the idea of her going into a Fury mid battle felt oddly right, and while I've never seen her use a sword in those, I'm assuming it's an iconic enough thing in the comics for it to be here in the first place (and quite frankly, as an Amazon Princess, I think she'd be cooler using a sword than just her fists like every other superhero and his dog - not that it's enough to make her a particularly interesting character, IMO, but still cool ).
- Mirror Test - Pass
- Bonding Test - Pass
- Synergies Test - Pass - Really just Justice League synergies (and Amazon Battle Cry, but the Amazons have never been a top tier squad anyway), and considering the caliber of some of the other guys in that line-up, she raises no red flags. I wonder why she's a Warrior and not a Champion, though - I mean, it still fits, but Champion fits too and is a much more Justice League iconic class for her (and, I'll be honest, for the first half of Test Two I played her as a Champion for the purposes of Allen's Champion's Challenge by mistake - it benefitted both sides, so I doubt it's a massive deal, but still, I apologise ).
- Power Check - Pass.
- Fun Test - Pass - She certainly has some fun powers.
- Fun Competitive Test - Pass - Certainly more so than her original version (she said because she's salty that Spider-Man's her second favourite superhero that she loves to play but has memories of the first Wonder Woman utterly mauling ).
- Drafting Test - Pass, though I do wonder if she's really worth more than the likes of Hercules? She's certainly within the margin of reasonable pricing, though - maybe it's more that Hercules is just really good for his price. She'll also never replace her original, much as I complain about her, but it's clear she's not meant to.
- Usage Test - Pass - Everything was used a decent amount, even though the first test showed that Amazon Training can certainly be circumnavigated.
- Strategy Test - Pass - Her powers had more strategic implications for both sides than a typical bruiser’s.

The X-Men of the Globe claim the initiative. Robot shoots Bucky for a wound, and Invincible flies straight forwards, decking Captain America with a Super punch, inflicting three wounds.
Bucky charges Storm and strikes her from height, inflicting a wound. Captain America punches Invincible, but only inflicts one wound thanks to Viltrumite Endurance.
Robot knocks Bucky out with a shot, and Allen the Alien flies up to Captain America and Invincible, striking Cap in melee from low ground. Diana flies in to intercept, pushing Cap out of the way, and retaliating on Allen, inflicting a wound.
Diana slashes at Invincible, inflicting only one wound because of Viltrumite Endurance, and inflicting another with Sword of Hephaestus.
Storm flies forwards, shooting Cap, but Wonder Woman burns Superman’s last marker, jumping in the way and blocking the lightning bolt with her bracelets, even though Storm rolled 6 skulls! It’s a good job she has Amazon Training, or she’d have taken three wounds. Armor advances.

Storm breaks engagement and moves to height at no cost, frying Cap. Armor charges Wonder Woman, punching her for a wound.

Diana slashes Invincible for a wound, inflicting another wound with Sword of Hephaestus.Invincible decks Wonder Woman for two more wounds, triggering her fury.

Round Five

Invincible heals a wound and Wonder Woman claims the initiative. She beats him into the dirst with two strikes, knocking him out.
Allen stands over the fallen Invincible and knocks Wonder Woman out, but - plot twist! - it turns out she was a Skrull the whole time! Starman steps up to the plate.
Starman flies forwards and shoots at Armor, knocking her out.
Allen effortlessly knocks out the Skrull who was masquerading as Diana.
Starman flies into melee with Allan, striking him to no effect.
Robot flies forwards and shoots Starman, who blocks the strike with his Forcefield.

Round Six

Robot claims the initiative, shooting Starman, who blocks. Allen strikes Starman, inflicting a wound.
Starman moves into melee with Robot, striking himm from height for a wound.
Robot shoots Starman to no effect. Allen clobbers him from height, but the forcefield stuff the blow.
Superman - who certainly took his sweet time - flies forwards, punching Robot from low ground for two wounds.
Robot shoots Superman for two wounds, while Allen knocks Starman out with ease.
Superman moves to height on Robot, and takes him out.

Round Seven

Allen claims the initiative and punches Superman from height for two wounds.
Superman punches Storm from height with nine and inflicts a wound, causing her to stumble backwards and receive another.

Kal-El moves to equal height with Allen, striking him for a wound.
Allen punches Superman for another wound.
Clark Kent finally knocks Allen the Alien out.

iew: Okay, I've never played Superman (vIII) before this, but I felt that with Amazon Training, it was something I had to try. While that interaction wasn't as strong as I expected, this was still a strong army. Wonder Woman was the star of this game, inflicting most of the damage on the other side, but that is bearing in mind that her opponents' focus was on taking down Captain America to get rid of that Avengers boost - when they started turning their attention to her, she didn't last too long.

Final Thoughts On The Tested Unit:

She’s a nice, fun, high point bruiser with some nice tactical applications, great mobility and a good addtiion to the Justice League faction. The only thing I’d wonder (pun not intended) about is her costing - 370 felt on the high end of the range I’d be looking at having played her, that being 350-370, erring personally towards 360, but that could just be me and there’s certainly no big problem with her at 370.

I'll post a full rundown later, but she's 4-2 in public testing, 6-5 including the games from the Initial. Most of the wins are closer, and there are a couple big losses. johnny found her on the low side for points, LO on the high side, Ronin thought she was pretty close.
