Unit Summary: This was probably a bad army concept that was over-reliant on Constructs that weren’t quite as helpful in practice as in theory. The Stolen Identities, for instance, never made it into play. So the overall game strategy wasn’t the best one for White Lantern, even if in-game tactics were mostly solid (other than squandering a Decoy early and then realizing its power text prevented Kyle from taking a turn with it unless he gave up his attack). That and poor dice rolls stopped Kyle from taking out Superman, which means he couldn’t really take out the rest of the army. He had a good showing here, though, and felt reasonable for his cost, despite the margin of defeat. I think armies like these will increasingly become viable as Constructs are added.

Cool, looking good so far, I definitely think right now he's best with 1-2 constructs and some Lantern friends. Having all your figures rely on one to do anything can be rough.

Yeah, I think a mix would've been best. Sprinkling some Decoys or Shields around the Lanterns would've probably been the way to go. Though he doesn't super love Decoys or Shields due to the difficulty of moving them around (have to give up his attack due to how their Construct Control power is worded).

Round 1: Kyle grabs height, then Captain America moves up and has Hawkeye wound Kyle. Kyle and Saint Walker rain blows down upon the Captain America, inflicting 4 wounds. Hulk leaps towards Kyle and brings him to 4 wounds and destroys the Green Construct Shield. Kyle burns a battery to heal 2 wounds, then he and Saint Walker inflict a single wound onto Hulk. Hulk throws Saint Walker into Daredevil (wounding Daredevil) then deals 3 wounds to Kyle.

Round 2: Kyle burns a battery to heal 2 wounds, Saint Walker takes a disengagement wound to kill Cap, then Kyle is blocked. Hulk wounds Kyle. Kyle burns a battery to heal 2 wounds, Saint Walker burns a battery to heal himself and Kyle, then the duo wound Hulk. Hulk is blocked. The Lanterns put 2 wounds on Hulk. Pretty clear victory for the lanterns here. They throw so many dice per turn and they grab height easily since they’re so fast. Since Kyle counts as a Green Lantern, Saint Walker is an especially great partner with 7 range/attack/defense.

Sustained Lifepower never came up (besides failing to work for the Green Construct Shield) as Kyle was the priority target. The self-heal from White Battery 4 was a lifesaver. New Guardians is obviously his premiere power though.

Close game. Kyle & the lanterns crush medium level heroes. But against true powerhouses like Superman, their stats struggle and they can fall quickly.

THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT'S COST, BALANCE, & DRAFTABILITY: Very fun to build your own little New Guardians group. It felt really strong after that first game, but the second (and seeing Bats’s results) was reassuring. I really liked the Saint Walker combo, which is great as that’s a thematic pairing. Green Construct Shields were nice to help out his defense, though I never got his d20 roll to save them from destruction.

I’m happy with Kyle at 450.

Yea I think I nerfed the d20 roll enough to make it more balanced. It was definitely a bit too hot for me initially.

I like the results here so I propose we move to final editing at 450 points!

Yea - some strong results but the win:loss ratio is against him. I feel like New Guardains teams are going to be either big wins or big losses, paper tiger type stuff, though that's always kind of the case with Lanterns.

A few thoughts:

- There's two subtle differences between Hal and Kyle's Battery power. Hal gives everyone a life boost, not just him (though I guess that's not that subtle ), Kyle can heal other people, not just himself. The "default" should be named "White Power Battery X" - Hal's is "White Life Battery," so I'm assuming it's not meant to be the default. I'd just make this one the default going forward, as I assume most White Lanterns can heal by nature? Unless we want everyone to have their own version?
- New Guardians specifies his turn can be with either "any other Unique Hero you control that started the game with a Battery Marker on it's card" or "any Energy Construct Hero you control." The "other" is no longer needed since he's Event now, and to simplify, I think you can combined them into "any Common or Unique Hero you control that started the game with a Battery Marker on it's card or is an Energy Construct." Still a super complex sentence but I'm not sure there's a way to simplify it without changing mechanics - this already opens it up to theoretical Common Heroes that start with Battery Markers but I don't expect any and I doubt it'd be problematic if there were.
- Sustained Lifepower is slightly cleaned up for capitalization/punctuation/whatever stuff.

Yeah, I missed that. Good thing we're going with the "(Color) Ranger" name scheme on the Power Rangers...

I might suggest "White Lantern Battery" as the default, then, to keep the general structure. Again, assuming we want this one to be the "default" one.
