Telepath was one of the keywords we talked about on the discord, the discussion also involved a future draft of Jayce (MTG) and some other people that may come up in the future that could key in on tags in spells. Like how Etrigan wants Hellfire spells, it was future looking design iirc.

Edit: After discord discussion it looks like the keyword would come across much better as Mental Manipulation instead of Telepath.
