I decided to recalculate how many figures I have and I now have 582.

Yes, keep posting. One way or another the list will go on.

When the list does get up and running again, I'd like to set limit lines for Elite class. I'm thinking 137 or 1337. Or both for Minor and Major Elite. What do you think?

I know I added a lot of stuff already to the list, how do you guys like it? Is it fun or just too much?

Hey Zorgophlats, some words about statistical analysis. As you can tell I have way too much time on my hands, and have spent way too much time analyzing statistics.

On your list you talk about the average number of figures, but given the wildly skewed distribution of figures this is a very misleading figure. It would be more informative to talk about the median number (the number of the person with rank N/2 if there are N people on your list). This value is less sensitive to outliers, like the lunatics who have over a thousand figures.

Not to mention that there is obvious selection bias here. I am proud of anyone who posted a count of less than 30 figures. Most people are only going to bother to report their number if they think their friends won't make fun of them.

If I was running this list the summary statistics I would report are:
Total number of figures
Number of people on the list
Median and other percentiles (how many do you have to have to be in the top 25%, 75%, you know, stuff like that).

But thankfully I'm not. Thanks for all the hard work.

And I was thinking...what if the star system worked off of how many figures you had? Something like this:

• Black star - you've got at least 1 figure
  Half star - you have at least 50 figures
  Full star - you have at least 200 figures
  Two stars - you have at least 500 figures
  Three stars - you have at least 1000 figures
  Four stars - you have at least 2000 figures
  Five stars - you have at least 5000 figures
  and so on, doubling the requirement for each additional star.

Well, the virus did its damage. Thankfully, not much was lost. It kept replicating itself onto random files and attacked Windows itself. Those affected files had to be deleted altogether. Finally, it is gone. For good.

Several thousand figures were updated. 182,000 total. What a week can do to the list.

I changed a few things. Better? Worse? Did you get the joke? Or should I just go back to a simple number list?
