Re: The Book of Prometheus ~ Vote for Initial
Seems worth figuring out, yeah. The negation lasts until the end of the round, though, so it could just be after another Player reveals an Order Marker on a card they control you can choose any of their figures to negate.
C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Ooh good call. You have more flexibility then also. Does this look good?

Re: The Book of Prometheus ~ Vote for Initial
I would specify that it's one of that opponent's figures for the sake of multiplayer. Otherwise looks good.

Re: The Book of Prometheus ~ Vote for Initial
Cool, good call. I still have to update the SP here so I'll try to gather all changes.
I'm pretty sure this passes, but I'm in no rush. Want to hit some public stuff first yet before testing this anyway. |

Re: The Book of Prometheus ~ Vote for Initial
You missed a comma in that strike-through. As long as you make sure not to include it, it'll be kosher. Otherwise you'll just have a double comma.
{Edit}Though it looks like you're missing one in the last sentance. It should be "At the end of the round,..." {Edit}{Edit} I need to stop or I'll just end up FEing the whole card now but "figures card..." should be "...figure's card..." |

Re: The Book of Prometheus ~ Waiting for Initial
Alright looks like I got all of Karat's and Johnny's edits. I didn't split out the double attack since I still don't like the look of it, but again we can debate that stuff as we go on. I'll hit this after some public testing.

___________________________________________________________ THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT'S COST, BALANCE, & DRAFTABILITY: I’m loving him. I feel pretty good around 400. I could see him going up or down depending on matchups. He wants to be in your face to maximize Reactionary Combat, but he’s still sturdy enough by spending markers for shields. Really doesn’t seem overpowered, since the opponent can easily work around losing a single power for the most part. Obviously the FF is pretty crippled without Sue’s shield, but the first game Prometheus also had double attack which I cut for the second two games. He’s very draftable and fits into any sort of army as a beefy support piece. GENERAL THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT: I’m very happy with him! He makes for some really “thinky” and kinetic games, as you and your opponent have to play around his negation power, which he can activate at any time depending on your opponent’s strategies. Spending markers to try to get blanks or shields is very fun, since you want to conserve them, as the longer the game goes, the bigger chance that Prometheus will run out of tricks. Still good with 8 markers here, as he’s only had 1 left on his two wins! Last edited by Lord Pyre; March 7th, 2020 at 05:04 PM. |

Re: The Book of Prometheus ~ Waiting for Initial
Got a start here. Before these tests I ran some heavy hitters again Superman II, with the results being just about 50/50.
For test 1, I planned on Prometheus shutting down Invisible Woman completely. He did that, but what I saw was that he was an absolute beast in combat. The Thing was scared to go up against him. It didn't feel right to me, so I completely cut the double attack. Test 2 was a GREAT game. Prometheus had to choose where to place his marker each round, with Mystique being the obvious choice, but Magneto's autowounds were a huge problem. Also having to balance when to use your markers is really fun. Do I change to a blank for an autowound, or to a shield to block that point of damage? Very kinetic and very fun. So far I'm great at 400. My next test I'll team him up with Commander Rogers, I think. Otherwise I'm not quite sure. Also we talked about some timing and wording issues with Reactionary Combat on discord, so we'll have to hash that out too. |

Re: The Book of Prometheus ~ Waiting for Initial
You talked about changing the trigger so you could negate someone at the start of the round when you won or lost initiative, but I don't see that update to the SP. Have you changed your mind on that then? Personally I'm against it, their should be a sliver of time there when your opponent can act fast enough to get in 1 use of a power before it gets shut down for the round. Although that makes more sense when your opponent wins initiative instead of when you win it. So I'd change the timing so that you get to place your markers when you reveal a #ed OM on any card you control. Win initiative, shut them down. Lose initiative, they get one action in before you can shut them down.

Re: The Book of Prometheus ~ Waiting for Initial
I was changing it to whenever any OM is revealed, I just forgot to update. Got it now! Also was considering requiring just having an OM on his card to activate it. Just in case it combos too well. Not really a detriment since I've been having markers on his card every round anyway, but it's something that most powers like this have.
He's definitely not overpowered this way, and giving an opponent a "chance" isn't really what this guy is meant to do. He messes with you when he wants to. It feels really good, and cutting the double attack was very much needed. He felt too much like a bruiser and not as "smart." He does now! |
