SEMI-FINAL BRACKET 2/2: The BftU Challenge

Gentlefolk, welcome back.

This is the SECOND of TWO semi-final voting brackets for The 1x BftU Challenge. (The first bracket is here: don’t forget to vote there too!)

NOTE: You are allowed to vote for as many maps as you like in each bracket. Essentially you’re being asked to grade each map on a pass/fail basis. If you think a map is tourney-worthy and deserves to pass, give it a vote. If you think a map is less impressive and probably shouldn’t go on, don’t give it a vote. The 4 winners of each bracket will be those that receive the most ‘passes’.

The aim of the contest: to build good tournament-worthy maps. At the minimum, I think this means maps that (a) offer interesting tactical decisions; and (b) are relatively balanced between melee and ranged. Beyond that, though, I know we’re all going to bring our own criteria to bear. So formulate your criteria, and have fun analyzing the heck out of these! And please do post whatever thoughts you have on these contenders. Feedback is highly encouraged.

Off to an interesting start.

Some interesting upsets. The Narrows and Grip of Darkness were in the same bracket in round 1 as well. But they've exchanged percentages with each other here.

The biggest changes, though, are the plummeting fortunes of Anvil and Bloody Chasm.

I think the most incredible thing here is that 93 downloads isn't even unusual for Typhon's maps. Somewhere out in the world, people are having the time of their lives on his maps...

Heh, I should confess, I bet on average I end up downloading each of my own maps something like 10-15 times as I tinker with it, revise the build instructions, add images to the PDF, re-upload yet again, and test it.
