Engagement Question!

I have a very simple question, does an attacker need to land a wound to become engaged, or does the attack make enemies engaged even if zero attack dice are rolled?

No.

Opposing figures are engaged if they are adjacent. They don't have to attack each other.

Re: Engagement Question!

You are engaged the moment your figure moves next to an opposing figure.

Glossary; Pg 17; Engagement: A figure is normally considered engaged with another figure if the two figures are both adjacent and unfriendly.

Re: Engagement Question!

Think about it like this:

You couldn't just walk past an enemy (unless you had a special move allowing you to "sneak" past)-- you'd immediately engage in combat.

You can move around your enemy while fighting, but if you try to leave you'll take a "leaving engagement attack". This would be like your enemy taking a shot at you as you turned tail and ran!

Re: Engagement Question!

You also have to take into account the height of the figures engaged. If X is below Y by 7 levels of height and has a height of 5, not engaged.

Lastly, if you plan on circling X with Y in order to get the high ground but use a flying ability to do so you automatically leave engagement when you activate the flying ability and therefore are open to a passing glance of 1 combat dice (or 2 if you are circling a Knights of Weston) against you.

Unless, of course, you're using Stealth Flying.

Kinda (sorta) taking a break from HSers. Check out Toraili, a group effort by me and I Hate Atlaga.

And if there's one thread I'll still post in, it's the Minecraft thread, here.
