NAME OF THE PLAYTEST UNIT: Gizmo (170)

Army Test
Map: Country Road
Units: Gizmo (170) Mechanical Constructs x4, Vision, Jocasta (795) VS. Deadpool, Wolverine, X-23 (785)

Spoiler Alert!

Round 1 started with 3 OMs on Gizmo. He moves as many Mechanical Constructs (MCs) as he can per turn. He ends up surrounding Deadpool and dealing a wound with his normal attack in the process. 3 MCs go down to Deadpool. Wolvie moves up.
Round 2 sees Gizmo keeping pressure on Deadpool with his MCs, hoping to lockdown Deadpool and blast away with Vision. But no wounds land. 3 more MCs go down to Deadpool. X-23 moves up and Wolvie engages Vision but whiffs his attack.
Round 3 has Vision dealing 3 wounds to X-23 with his height advantage. X-23 and Wolvie both whiff their attacks this round, but Deadpool is able to kill 2 more MCs. Gizmo uses Robotic mastery to resurrect a MC and gets a big attack on Wolvie for 3 wounds. Wolverine and Laura Kinney both heal a wound.
Round 4 shows Wolverine getting a big defense roll against a 4 skull attack from Vision. Deadpool deals 2 wounds to Gizmo. Gizmo drops a 4 skull attack from height and eliminates the hairy little X-men (Wolverine). Deadpool vanquishes 2 more MCs. Vision takes a risk and engages both Deadpool and X-23. With height he rolls 4 skulls and X does as well. Goodbye Laura. OM3 was on Wolverine.
Round 5 begins with Gizmo resurrecting another MC, and dealing a single wound to DP with his normal attack. Wade is amped to finally attack something other than a Mechanical Construct but he cannot get through Vision’s defenses, on either attack. Vision hits a 17 on Physical Disruption. Deadpool is 1 wound away from being a pool of dead. Deadpool hits Vision for 3 wounds and heals. Vision flees, ending his movement adjacent to Gizmo for a potential heal with Gizmo’s Mechanical Engineering. Deadpool gives Gizmo a wound and heals. Deadpool heals again and Vision gets a wound removed by Gizmo.
Round 6 has Gizmo bring up 3 MCs to engage Wade Wilson, but cannot hurt the Mutant with his normal attack. DP kills an MC. Vision deals a wound to DP and DP takes out the other 2 MCs engaged with him. Vision rolls a lot of skulls but DP (finally) has a good defensive roll and takes just 1 wound. DP hits Gizmo for 3 but Jocasta takes the heat. Gizmo heals Jocasta.
Round 7 starts Gizmo losing initiative for the first time, with his 1st turn Deadpool eliminates Jocasta. Vision doesn’t like that. He blasts DP with 3 wounds. DP gives the Android Avenger 2 hits. These guys trade and with turn 3 Vision retreats. Gizmo heals the Avenger and Wade’s X-gene heals him.
Round 8 begins with Deadpool killing Gizmo. Vision and DP trade wounds. Vision gets lucky and hits an 18 on Physical Disruption. Ending Deadpool's epic last stand.

The dice were cruel to the Mutants in this game.
They only won Initiative twice. Deadpool really pulled his weight but a very poor showing from the other 2. Gizmo had a big impact I think. He dealt some wounds to DP but had a big attack from height on Wolverine, he resurrected 2 MCs, and moved them a ton. He also healed Vision twice, and Jocasta once.

Who won? List figures remaining in the winning army (include life remaining for heroes): Gizmo and the Gang win. Vision survives with 2/6 life remaining + 1 Mechanical Construct.

Army Test
Map: Country Road
Units: Gizmo (170) Mechanical Constructs x7, Arnim Zola VS. Ronan, Kree Soldier x7, Kree Scout x2. 650 Each.

Zola chosen as Ronan’s Accused.
Round 1 everyone moves up. Ronan kills an MC. Gizmo twice fails his Improvised Weaponry 15 roll.
Round 2 Gizmo is still moving up MCs and Kree are doing the same. Gizmo fails IW15 rolls again. Ronan kills an MC. Zola kills a Kree Soldier. Ronan takes 1 leaving engagement to become adjacent to Gizmo, He rolls 5 skulls and even with height advantage Gizmo gets one-shotted!
Round 3 Ronan pushes some MCs and one goes down to falling damage. He then puts one wound on Zola. Zola sacrifices an MC to heal 1 wound.
Round 4 Ronan and a Scout get Zola to 5 wounds. Zola fails his Consciousness Transmission 16 roll. Ronan puts the final wound on Zola. A Soldier eliminates an MC.
Round 5,6,7 With Zola and Gizmo down, the Kree brought the pain. They eliminated every last MC while only absorbing 1 wound.

Who won? List figures remaining in the winning army (include life remaining for heroes): The Kree are victorious- Ronan 2/6 Life, 1 Kree Scout, 5 Kree Soldiers.

THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT'S COST, BALANCE, & DRAFTABILITY: Gizmo seems evenly costed and definitely an option with Android builds. Both of my tests had some unfavorable dice rolls for the losing teams. There were 3 defensive whiffs that lead to Unique Heroes going down. The second game had particularly bad luck for Gizmo whiffing on D very early to Ronan.

GENERAL THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT: Gizmo’s ability to resurrect an MC and heal an Android are his highlights.

Lobster's second test in. So out of 10 test he only won 2 and along the way we toned him down (eliminating movement portion of rebuilt bot). Improvised weaponry was adjusted since multiple testers thought it was unreliable so that was brought down before Lob's test and range increased somewhere before Ronin's second test. Still he's 2-8. If anyone thinks 10 points is too much of a drop let me know but I'm going to drop him from 170 to 160 and Propose we move to Final Editing at 160

I think 160 is fair - his potential has been high but I don't think we've seen him really perform at that peak consistently. And a few points here or there wouldn't make a difference if he did.

Mechanical Engineering needs a new name, since it's different from Forge's. Maybe Robotics Engineering?

I feel like we could also use a different name on Improvised Weaponry - it sounds like it should be an effect more like Makeshift Weaponry on Mother Russia.

Mechanical Engineering was discussed early on but if you see it as an issue now then I'm open to a change.

Same with Improvised Weaponry...I pushed back a lot on this one since it was a thematic note to his ability to create weaponized robots from ordinary objects but I'm less inclined to fight it now.

I somehow missed Makeshift Weaponry...cool power. Had I known of it I may have went a different direction here.

Any name suggestions are open for discussion now.

I feel like the second power could honestly be reused - we could go with something like "Android Assault 13" and leave it open for future Agent or Undead or Ninja variations.
