All Melee Armies!!!
I was suppose to post this in a scenario thread but this doesnt require much map specifications (in playing all melee, Castles may not be so fun). Heck, all you gota do is draft all melee cards and restrict range (special or normal) attacking figures. Or you can modify ranged units to have a range of 1 (both on normal and special attacks) and deduct 10 from their army point--Major Q9 is a good candidate for this.
If you tried playing an all melee game, post your all melee armies here! By the way, all melee games are great for taking a break from regular games. Playing all melee most of the time is not recommended due to a lot of reasons that I'm not going to bother to mention. Its just a mode or a scenario, a vacation from regular gameplay. My 600 point army: 225 Juton 120 Krug 110 Sentinels of Jandar 110 Ninjas of the Northern Wind My gf uses Raelin and Taelord all the time...I use my ninjas and sentinels to kick their butts. |

Now if we're saying standard 500, I'd go for the heavy orcs:
2xHeavy Gruts (140) 1xBlade Gruts(40) Tornak (100) Ornak (100) Grimnak (120) Play your cards right and you've got 4 attacks of 5 with your Utgar symbols counting as skulls....without height. || My Maps Review Blog || My Maps Thread || My Marvel Customs || Knights of the Daystorm || [/CENTER] |

To match the first army of 600 points:
3x Shades of Bleakewood (300) 5x Zombies (300) The key to winning here is to leave your zombies back until the shades have taken out/over the "bigger" guys. Advance your zombies first, twice (or more, the key here is to advance zombies until your shades are 2 turns away from engaging something, 14 hexes), and then on your last turn of that round, advance the shades to within striking distance of something. Next turn, advance shades to surround whatever it is, trying to avoid having your shades being adjacent to each other. Next round, move with shades at least twice, bringing up more from the back, and taking over/attacking with any that don't get killed. Once you're down to 4 shades or so, do one last takeover attempt, stealth fly and get outta there, and bring up the zombie horde 6 at a time. Try to use a shade to get the movement glyph if available. For the record, I had 3 shades take out Braxus is 1 turn. Yes, rare, but they CAN do some serious damage. Go ahead and ask Ketch how well this army works |
