EyeOfSauron's Repaints & Mods - 1/15/08 Terminator -ish
Updated 1/15/2008
I've been wanting to do something like a Terminator for awhile. I finally saved up enough customer loyalty points at the local gaming store to justify purchasing a pack of Necrons (man GW stuff is expensive!). Anyway here is a squad of "Terminators"....basically stock Necrons. The way the pieces come, you can get slightly different poses with each one. I had to glue them together, basecoat them, then dry brush silver with careful touches of color for the eyes and gun. ] However, that wasn't quite Terminatorish enough for me so I did a mod of a Necron by cutting the backs of the arms and legs (which are in permanent bent position) so I could straigten them out and make him stand up straight. Here's the result...a little closer to what I want, but still not quite there: Size comparisons: --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Red Leather repaint: I enjoyed it more than I should have. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Here's a zombie from HeroQuest that I repainted to add to the growing undead army. Hardest part about this guy was cutting him off of his base without losing his feet! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Here's a "post-apocalyptic" Thug from GamesWorkshop I painted awhile back, but couldn't use because he was too short for HS scale. I had the idea to replace his short stubby legs with some AE legs.... Switcheroo! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I finally got around to doing this mod I've been wanting to do for awhile. Truth be told I have hated the Greek helmets from the moment I saw them. I sacrificed a couple of "High Elf Spearmen" from LoTR miniatures to get their heads/helms. One was a clean "swap" while the other required a little more creative replacement (I had to cut the greek's head down to just a stub). Custom card will follow shortly. Now up to three! I love the Greeks...Kudos!!! I'm going to have to go on ebay and see if I can find some of those high elf guys...terrific...yeah the mess kit helmet just doesn't do it for me.
I'd love some greeks with phalanx spears too...and horsemen. I'd also like to repaint my Romans...shorten their swords a bit. Oh well, I'm a geek, I'd play romans and greeks all day if I could LOL |

That Necromunda Goliath conversion came out great.
I am going to have to make a squad of post apocalyptic punk bikers. The Sacred Band look so much better with different helmets. Fantastic work! |

I still need to put a different shield pattern on the Greeks ...I was thinking of using the the "lambda" of the Spartans, but technically their helms aren't Spartan...any ideas? This site has some good info:http://www.ne.jp/asahi/luke/ueda-sar...atterns_1.html If anyone is interested in doing your own Greeks mod, this site has some singles of the High Elf Spearmen & Swordsman: http://www.iconusa2.com/online/LOTR_...ip-Singles.htm I was EyeOfSauron back in the day. Man your mummy is awesome, EOS, and the helmet is a great addition for the Greek. I would like to see the punk guy in person sometime-you should bring him to AF&G sometime.
