Love the theme. So much good theme.

I would say go uncommon for now and just make him the Predator. Future designs can figure out their own names.

I like the swamp water clause for theme but it is hard to argue YK's point. You have so much theme you might be able to trim a little to streamline the power. I still would prefer to see it stay.

As far as self-destruct, I would prefer that he simply reveals the X and goes boom. Perhaps have a wound requirement(2 or 3 or more to activate). However to keep all the good theme, how about this:

SELF-DESTRUCT WRIST GAUNTLET
If Jungle Predator did not move this turn, you may reveal an X Order Marker on this card. After revealing an order marker on this card, if there is a revealed X Order Marker on this card, all figures within 3 spaces of Jungle Predator receive 2 wounds, and Jungle Predator is destroyed.

This does prevent a turn 3 activation with a turn 1 boom(hmm now I do not like it so much).
The only issue I could see with uncommon figures would be self destructing the other team into oblivion. Playtests will reveal if this is true or not.

Swamp Water - there are no rules in Heroscape which determine how deep water tiles are. They stop movement, so it has to be considerable. I can see that being on a swamp tile would make you muddy, but a swamp water tile suggests pretty well submurged to me, so I still think the theme holds.

X marker - some good ideas, but I like the way only you/Predator know when it's going to blow once it's set.

I agree about dropping swamp water and I'd rather see the X OM used instead of another marker.

Hey Streaky, I'm not sure if you are aware of this link. If not, this will help you w/ LDing and ensure that you get all the stuff you need (i.e. Blank Book, info on Where/Who to send links to, etc.) Hope this helps ...

Swamp water does not stop your movement like regular water.

As mac122 said, it also does not prevent falling damage. It was awhile before I realized this myself.

Thanks for that, but I don't understand what's meant by linking this somewhere. I have always really struggled to find information on this site that everyone else seems to instinctly know where to find.

I know what you mean ... I had little experience w/ forums before C3G and had similar issues at various times in the past.

In regard to your question about linking ... I believe Quozl is referring to this reference in the section about the "Design Phase":

For what its worth, some Predators do have names. A few include Chopper, Celtic, Beserker, Wolf and Scar. This link lists a few:

If we go with the X OM reveal and instant boom, then it should only work if he has 1 wound left. These guys are not suicide bombers, the bomb is a means of last resort when facing a superior foe.

FWIW, we did an Uncommon Hero Predator in the Heroes of Fiction group. We used a self-destruct power that triggers when the Predator receives enough wounds to be destroyed. It required a d20 roll of 16 or higher.
