Do existing Site Supporters get the 20 points? I don't believe I did.

Thanks for the clear explanation. I was all primed to start ignoring reputation, but the system is much less abusable than I expected.

Please note that your reputation is not what's based on posts. Rather, it is your reputation power (that is, how much influence you have over the reputation of others).

If your many posts are good--or at least not sucky--then you are an active member of this community, and your reputation power is accordingly increased. If your many posts are nonsensical spewage, then everyone is giving you negative rep, and your reputation rapidly becomes so low that you can't affect anyone else, regardless of how many posts you have. So it's self-policing, in the main.

While I'm not 100% sure, my understanding was that LR was going to try to hand out the initial 20pts once a week or so. So possibly he just hasn't gotten around to you yet.

I might be blind, but is it possible to see the rep you've given out? I can't find it, and I searched for it. (I just got 20 rep, and now that I'm actually using the system, I'd like to be able to use it more effectively.)

Whao! It's really going to be hard to judge the reputation of the intended poster (not sure of the spelling), but i can see that this is definately going to be better then just counting the number of posts a person has.

Perhaps this is a better place to ask, this is more directed towards the Admins. A little while ago I had been talking to Xotli via pm but I never got a response to this one. In fact I haven't seen him since I sent it on June 26th.

To put this in context, at this time I had just become a Site Supporter and was expecting the +20 bonus.

Does the section show up if you haven't received any (real) rep yet? I've got the automatic 20 for supporters, but I don't see any place where it lists rep.
