Re: The Book of Green Lantern (Ch'p) - Breathing
Not from what Nobody was describing, and I think that wording you have is muddled and unclear as to what you are describing. I think he and you are on different pages.
He seems to be proposing Triple Attack, but you must burn a marker after using it (to which I say, what is the marker burn actually doing other than reducing his base move, range, attack, and defense values?). Seems more like you are saying he must burn a marker to triple attack (which I am ok with). |

Re: The Book of Green Lantern (Ch'p) - Breathing
I disagree.
We're both saying you burn a marker if possible when you decide to use the power. If you could break down how what I have is muddled or unclear, I invite it, as well as proposed rewrites. I'm guessing any rewrite you'd suggest will change the mechanics, but I may be wrong. I feel what I have is pretty straightforward, but I may be wrong about that as well. In my version you decide at the start of your turn to use the power or not (regardless of if you have markers). Then if you can, you have to burn a marker. Then you get the triple attack at any point in your move, like in the current power. You have to burn the marker before doing any movement or attacking, so your stats are pre-adjusted before you do either on a turn where you Go Nuts. C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

That's why folks are suggesting the Special Attack route here.

Re: The Book of Green Lantern (Ch'p) - Breathing
Swordplay isn't awful, but does seem to be right on the line. Obviously if you throw range in there (Punisher) it becomes a definite issue.

Re: The Book of Green Lantern (Ch'p) - Breathing
Ch'p's minimal to no range does help, in his case though he is going to be eternally tied to Kilowog. If that is in theme then I could see that direction but if not, a SA gives him more freedom for different quality builds.

Re: The Book of Green Lantern (Ch'p) - Breathing
I'll need to hear from someone who knows the guy in the comics. I actually like the idea of a multi-hitting GL for Kilowog to boost, and this guy seems like a good and thematic option (who's also got a glass jaw so it's not too strong), but if this guy regularly has solo outings, that's more of a concern.

Re: The Book of Green Lantern (Ch'p) - Breathing
Ch'p is only in the older comics, as he died in a 1992 comic and was replaced by another squirrel lantern (B'dg, who is very competent and mentors Simon Baz). So I only know Ch'p from the wikis. He apparently was good friends with Arisia, John Stewart, and Salaak. Didn't see any mentions of Kilowog, though I assume Kilowog trained him (like he does for everyone). Maybe Spidey knows more about him?

Re: The Book of Green Lantern (Ch'p) - Breathing
Ch'p was in Hal's same class that came in under Kilowog.

Re: The Book of Green Lantern (Ch'p) - Breathing
I know in the cartoon Ch'p was Kilowog's 'star pupil' and beat the tar out of Hal at Kilowog's prompting or a bet.

Re: The Book of Green Lantern (Ch'p) - Breathing
So what's the game plan here?
Didn't Ch'p die in GL: Mosaic? I should've known that because I love that comic. I might just've not owned that specific issue growing up. |
