Even with his massive range, I don't think that's going to be enough...armies like rats/Q9 or rats/Nilf are successful becaue the heavy hitter can hit multiple units per turn. Yeah, I was thinking that, and I made a mention of it. I would like to say that the repulsors could do the job, but with their 1 attack, and 3 defense, even assuming they could get height, the damage output would be lacking. The army would do well against rats, if the repulsors could get to them.

There's an ongoing joke around my games. "Zetacron is King". The first time I drafted him, I got him on some height, with Raelin mk 1 and Finn, and it was nearly impossible to pull him from that position. His Deadly Shot, along with excellent range, and enhanced attack and defense pretty much gave him control of the board.

Many squad figures and heroes fell to Zetacron, when I finally proclaimed that Zetacron is King. He held that position for a good ong whie until a single botched D roll (that's all it takes, isn't it?) against a Marro Stinger took him down. By then, the game was all but over anyhow, but it was great to see.

One could see exactly what his range was by seeing just how far out there were no figures.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if Finn is alive, doesn't he only give the attack boost to figures with a Range of 1?

Finn was dead, and on Zetacron's card from Attack Spirit, correct? If he was standing next to Zetacron, then he was being played horribly wrong...

I'm not assuming you were doing it wrong, just making sure you weren't...

Edit: He could be on Zeta's card, Elffy.

He could be, but I was reading it as Finn and Raelin were on the hill with Zetacron.

Aquilla's Alliance - "Heroes of the Quagmire"

Character Bio: - Life flickers in the darkness. A low mechanical hum chases away years worth of stale silence. Whirl… click, click, click…bzzzat. A glowing square of blue fluorescence burns against the shadows. More clicks and whirls sound out. The blue glow moves forward in a staggering motion, leaving a fading trail of phantom light in its path.

An experiment failed and abandoned. A soul laid dormant in metal casings, now sparks to conciousness.

The fluorescent blue screen changes to a bright red. The red light flashes.

The far end of the room ignites in a burning cloud of yellow, red and black. Bolts of sunlight, highlighted by a haze of debris, crash in from the outside, spreading light where no light has existed for a very long time.

Dark machines march in through the bright gap that they’ve created.

The dark ones spot the bright face of the sleeper, now awake. The red light jumps high into the air, a scarlet ghost marking its trail. A blaze of incendiary tracer rounds illuminates the air in streaks, leaping from the long gunmetal barrels that are attached to the white and blue frame of the figure with the red face. Each shot fired finds its mark, burning on contact.

The invading machines fall, one by one.

A new form darkens the makeshift doorway, its massive frame blocking out the light.

A rocket screams. An explosion throws the blue and white robot to the ground.

The figure in the doorway readies a finishing blow, but its sensors suddenly go dark. Its advanced scanners circle the room and report back with no sign of the resisting blue and white soulborg … impossible.

How does Deadly Shot/Strike work? Are the skulls doubled before, or after shields are counted?
Deadly Strike & Deadly Shot double the skulls before the shields are counted. For example, Zetacron who is on height rolls 3 attack dice. Of those 3 dice, 2 skulls and one blank are rolled. The Figure below him rolls 3 dice, but only one shield. Your skulls are doubled to 4 hits. When you subtract the 1 shield, the defender takes 3 total hits. (Hasbro FAQ)

Has anyone tried using Zetacron in a Kyrie army? Use Atlaga to enhance the movement of Saylind, get her to height, Then summon Zetacron. This strategy would also be useful to get Zetacron onto castle walls giving him height advantage.

It could work. Seems kinda expensive, to draft Saylind AND Atlaga just to get Zetacron to height, though. You'd use your entire/most of your 1st turn just to get him there, and then what? Zetacron + height isn't game over by any means...
