Spidey seems about right, but I have a hard time imagining Punisher staying on the sidelines and saving lives rather than just blasting through and shooing aliens.

When it comes to the films this year:

Deadpool: Not seen it yet, intrigued, don't know what to expect.
Batman V. Superman: Not expecting great things, honestly. Don't care that much.
Suicide Squad: No idea what to expect, or even if I'll be that interested. The trailer felt cool, but honestly that was mostly thanks to Freddy Mercury.
Civil War: Can't wait!
Doctor Strange: Massively intrigued; excited, but not as much as I am for Civil War.

Yeah, the Punisher part was kind of a joke. I muddied it with the Spidey inclusion, though ....

They haven't really given us much to go on, presumably because they're focused on hyping Civil War. I'm sure we'll get some kind of Dr Strange nod in the credits of Civil War, though.

I agree the casualty numbers for the Battle of New York seem too small, but didn't CA at the very beginning of the fight tell the Cops to start pulling people back past a certain street and then the Avengers focused on turning the tide back on itself in order to contain the battle inside a specific perimeter, making the cops the helping hands rescuing civilians while the Avengers did the fighting? I feel like they also said something about getting people underground into basements and the subway. Then we see CA try to rescue those people being held hostage in the building (although it appears he throws a grenade right on top of some of them.) So they did seem to make some effort within the context of the movie to save lives and the aliens seemed to be rounding up prisoners rather than just killing everyone. When one of those flying whales flew through a building a lot of people should have died right there though. Most of the people working in the higher level floors seems to just be watching what was happening instead of seeking cover. At the end of the day though, the World Council's solution was to nuke New York and kill millions so they really don't have much ground to stand on.
