What: National Heroscape Day in The Old Line State
When: Saturday, October 18, 2014. Show up 12:30(ish), start rolling dice at 1.
Where: Games and Stuff in Glen Burnie, Maryland. (Map.)
How Much: $6.
Format: 20 figures, 440 points, War of the Worlds (all units must be from the same home planet). You can find an index of the planets with a list of the official units from each here; a similar list for the C3V/SoV units is here.

See the House Rules linked in my sig for details about tiebreaks & some other little things. All finalized C3V and SoV units are eligible, as usual. There won't be any new finalized ones before the event; if it's official as of this post, it's fair game.

Any questions, ask in advance (PMs are welcome too). Remember, I don't mind being a dictator, so if you failed to ask you have nobody to blame but yourself!

Our buddy @drewcula will be making a new trophy for this event, but he technically doesn't know it yet. So, I hope so. The Golden Viking will be up for grabs, too, as usual.

This is a new location! With a new entry price! Parking and food are both plentiful. I owe a deep debt of gratitude to the Family Game Store and I do not know what the future holds, we may end up back there, but the food options in Savage had become unacceptable, and besides, this particular weekend they had another event already scheduled. So we are at an alternative location.

Even though I do like TFGS, moving the location to somewhere that's closer to NEW JERSEY, would be AWESOME!!!

I don't know what these are, however I've been thinking about an unusual concept to prevent Squad-'Scape, but at the same time *NOT* limit players from fielding their favorites, which might be along this line. I'm calling it "They're ALL Unique" in that EVERY hero and squad is considered UNIQUE for the purposes of this format. Therefore any army can still have the A+ common squad units, but ONLY ONE of each. I think this would eliminate a lot of the Steam-Roller builds and make everyone think outside their proverbial boxes to reconsider the various synergies, etc.


On the other hand it may seem confusing trying to explain it to some of the less astute players. I just played in a "B or less" tournament on LINY. There was a lot of confusion on the Forum about what is a "B or Less Unit" until Grishankh published an entire list and stated, "You can only use what's on this list." It was interesting to see a lot of seldom used figures. Many of the battles were still highly contested fights. And quite a few C3V figures finally made an appearance.

Yes ... ditto [ prayers and best wishes @Crichton ] from me here on the JrrZee Shore. A MD Tournament won't be the same without him in attendance.

"...at the moment..." seems to be the Key Words for me to focus on. A lot can happen between now and then. I joined the Long Island HeroScapers on July 19th for their "Less than B+" tournament and I'm planning to go back there this month (Sept. 20th for a special Lord Of The Rings themed event with Sherman Davies HS customs. And now the M.A.R.S. crew has just come out of Summer hibernation and wants to get something going in Eastern PA again. So my Day-Tripping (and finances) may be exhausted by then. Therefore put me down as a doubtful maybe, at the moment.
