Re: The Book of Daredevil II - Breathing
Covers Fog Cover too, which is great. I think it might effect Deadpool's Wisecrack power though, which wouldn't make as much sense. Maybe a blind guy has already hear all of Wade's blind jokes and it doens't get to him.

Still love Go The Distance!
If we're coming up with a Blind power for immunities, I'd like to see Destiny retrospectively get something along those lines. |

Re: The Book of Daredevil II - Breathing
While I like that power for blindness, I don't think it's ideal for a few reasons.
1) It's range-centric. As Ronin said, it makes it tough to reuse on non-ranged figures. 2) It's powerful. This isn't ideal for Daredevil (since this should be a cheaper version), and it's not great if we want to reuse it regularly. 3) It makes the blind fighter better at range. This seems... strange. Daredevil has radar sense. Guy Who Just Went Blind doesn't. His aim is probably significantly worse than someone who can see. It's a great Daredevil power, but it's not a great "blindness synergy" power. I would tweak Hearing Footsteps instead: FIGHTING BLIND When Daredevil defends against a normal attack from a figure that moved 1 or more spaces this turn, he rolls 1 additional defense die. In general, I think this version should be simple and cheap compared to our current version. This trims some space on the card, captures the theme in a light way, and lowers his defensive ability a bit. JOHNNY139'S CLASSIC CUSTOM THREAD! | Visit now!

Re: The Book of Daredevil II - Breathing
Maybe just straight up 'shadow doesn't matter' for the blindness power? Really simple and minimalist. Then maybe Daredevil could have the full-on version shown here and reference it counting as that.

Which power are you referencing there in the beginning? Please quote it, since your 3 following points don't seem to match up with the current power being discussed to me. |

Re: The Book of Daredevil II - Breathing
This one is the one I'm talking about:
BLIND WARRIOR Daredevil cannot be prevented from choosing a figure to attack by any special power on any Army Card or Glyph. When Daredevil attacks a figure on a Shadow Tile, that figure does not receive any additional defense dice for the Shadow Tile. JOHNNY139'S CLASSIC CUSTOM THREAD! | Visit now!

1) It's range-centric. As Ronin said, it makes it tough to reuse on non-ranged figures. *I've always played the Shadow tile defense as something that works on adj. figures, is that not correct? As for the power negation, the Daring Decoy example is one melee power it would negate, so I'm not seeing how this is worthless for melee units that are blind or range focused. A card with this power will be priced based on what is does do, not on what it does for another card with a normal ranged attack. 2) It's powerful. This isn't ideal for Daredevil (since this should be a cheaper version), and it's not great if we want to reuse it regularly. *I don't see how it would be classified as powerful, it's a pretty minor theme based power that only effects a small handful of defensive powers in the game and shadow tiles that are rarely used. Again, the price it applies to a card will be based on how much is helps that specific card. 3) It makes the blind fighter better at range. This seems... strange. Daredevil has radar sense. Guy Who Just Went Blind doesn't. His aim is probably significantly worse than someone who can see. *How does it make Daredevil better at range? He's rolling the same number of attack dice either way. Most other blind figures won't have a normal ranged attack or even a SA with a ranged component, so 'guy who just went blind' isn't a factor. |

Re: The Book of Daredevil II - Breathing
I think outright power negation is pretty powerful for a power we want to staple on other units. I don't know if that's accurate or not. It's not Magical Defense but it's something.
What I'm getting at is - blindness isn't, by nature, a "bonus." It doesn't let you hit invisible people, or stop people from dodging, or ignoring wisecracks, or whatever. It just means you can't see, and by goofy comic book logic, makes your other senses marginally better by compensation. This power doesn't feel like blindness to me, it feels like radar sense, and for a power that's supposed to be "just" not having sight, that feels off. JOHNNY139'S CLASSIC CUSTOM THREAD! | Visit now!

Quote:
The power, as is, is representing people who are so amazing at fighting that they overcome blindness by relying on their other senses to an almost supernatural (or sometimes actually supernatural) level. It's not something I'd want on just any old on the street blind person. It belongs on people who are blind and are warriors. C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: The Book of Daredevil II - Breathing
That's the way I saw it as well. It's not saying he's blind, it's saying he's a blind warrior. So it's special, and would only be specific to specific people.

Re: The Book of Daredevil II - Breathing
Agreed. Do we want a milder variation as well, though? I'd quite like it if Destiny and other 'bind but not amazing' characters could ignore Doctor Light.

Re: The Book of Daredevil II - Breathing
Are there any characters whose blindness cripples them and leaves them unable to function as fighters that we're worried about a synergy power bringing in for Superheroscape? The only blind comic characters I can think of are all pretty much Kung-Fu Bad-A's.
Edit: Destiny, apparently? Though that'd require a 2.0 at this point anyway. C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.
