Army Test
Map: Custom
Units: Ace (250), Mera, Aquaman (I), Sub-Mariner, Aqualad (Garth) (1000) VS Fantastic 4 (100)

Spoiler Alert!

Damage Dealt: 4 wounds to Human Torch... the worst amount of damage...

Reshuffle the Deck: Useful. Didn't keep track of when I moved OMs but it was often.

Ace Up the Sleeve: N/A

Durable Armor: Triggered 4 times and the time he whiffed on blanks he only took 2 wounds.

Made sure I had enough water for all the water characters, but it was still difficult for them as most of the water was lower and that let Thing and Human Torch beat on them from height. Ace was useful and tough to take down which I think is important for a leader. They made some headway when they killed Mister Fantastic at the end of round 3, but Ace left Human Torch at 1 life and Thing Clobbered them real good.

Who won? List figures remaining in the winning army (include life remaining for heroes): Thing with 4 wounds, Human Torch with 4 wounds.

Damage Dealt: Killed Iceman in 2 attacks by himself.

Reshuffle the Deck: Useful. Little bit less so than G1 where everyone was a King/Queen.

Ace Up the Sleeve: N/A

Durable Armor: Triggered twice this game then he took 2 wounds from Cyclops' SA and 2 wounds from being tossed by Jean

Megga copied Maxima to be a Queen this game.

X-Men getting multiple attacks per turn was rough, they kinda tore this army apart. Saved Living Mummy and Ace for cleanup and they we being activated by the end of round 3...

Who won? List figures remaining in the winning army (include life remaining for heroes): Professor X, Angel and Beast at full health, Jean and Cyclops with 3 wounds each.

Damage Dealt: Killed Michelangelo and dealt 1 wound to Donatello.

Reshuffle the Deck: Useful. Really helps against the TMNT strategy

Ace Up the Sleeve: N/A

Durable Armor: Triggered 5 times this game! Really saved him from some nasty attacks. (he blocked one attack even though it triggered)

TMNT continue to be brutal but it's nice to have an OM hub like Ace that lets you use your other units until they die so you don't have to play scared against 4 turns at once from the Turtles. The turtles also had some pretty awful defense rolls with 2 of them being dead by the end of round 3.

Who won? List figures remaining in the winning army (include life remaining for heroes): Ace with 2 life left, Black Panther with 1 life left.

THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT'S COST, BALANCE, & DRAFTABILITY: I think Ace's best power besides the OM flex he provides is going to be his X OM power but there isn't really anyone to test it with right now. Doesn't feel work 250 points as is but that power could easy change that with the rest of the gang.

Thanks for the tests. Its pretty much what I expected.

I see no reason for any tweaks or changes to Ace at this time as he should end up pretty close to the desired cost.

From here where do we go? Continue to discuss and work on Ace or is it time to start King?

You’ll probably want to get Ace all the way through public playtesting and then put him On Hold during the final editing phase, I imagine.
