Re: The Book of Beppo (Design Phase)
NAME = BEPPO
SPECIES = KRYPTONIAN UNIQUENESS = UNIQUE HERO CLASS = COMPANION PERSONALITY = MISCHIEVOUS SIZE/HEIGHT = SMALL 2 LIFE = 3 MOVE = 6 RANGE = 1 ATTACK = 4 DEFENSE = 5 POINTS = 160 SUPER MONKEY MISCHIEF Beppo has the species of Simian in addition to what is on this card. After revealing an Order Marker on the card of a Unique Hero you control that shares a species or class with Beppo, before taking a turn with that figure, you may immediately move Beppo up to 4 spaces. If Beppo moves at least one space with this special power, you may choose a small or medium figure adjacent to Beppo. Switch Beppo and the chosen figure, during which neither takes leaving engagement attacks. FOCUSED HEAT VISION After moving and before attacking, you may choose a figure within 4 clear sight spaces. Roll the 20-sided die. If you roll 15 or higher, either: • inflict 1 wound on the chosen figure; or • destroy 1 glyph on the chosen figure's card; or • inflict 3 wounds on the chosen figure if it is a destructible object. Re: The Book of Beppo (Design Phase)
Power 1 and 2 here are mostly about trying to let him play decently with the Kryptonian faction as well as in Companion stuff. I do worry he probably will gravitate slightly more toward Zod Kryptonian stuff rather than Kal Kryptonian stuff as is, which does lend itself more toward a trim down potentially.

Re: The Book of Beppo (Design Phase)
The timing on Monkey Mischief is a bit unclear right now (as in how long the disengage effect works). I assume it's meant to be for that player turn?
That said, swapping it to just making it so figures he's engaged with don't take swipes might help push him more towards some Superman stuff (Heroic Duty, Lois, etc., likes for you not to feel tied down). C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: The Book of Beppo (Design Phase)
Yeah, figures engaged with Beppo may not make LEAs might be a cleaner wording.
Nice design though. Definitely useful. Focused Heat Vision is a decent Gundam counter power now, especially on cheaper figures. |

Re: The Book of Beppo (Design Phase)
Disengage was actually the thing I was most considering dropping as it intersects with what Steel provides in a family build. Obviously still useful for Companions in that situation but I like some differentiation.

Re: The Book of Beppo (Design Phase)
Realistically though, making it just where all figures engaged with him can't make LEAs also just loses some of the theme of the monkey flying around causing problems. May be something to just readjust to find something a little more fitting to capture the vibe of the mischievous monkey flying around.

Re: The Book of Beppo (Design Phase)
For me it scans as he moves around a lot and when he's adjacent to you, he distracts you. Though maybe an always on disengage effect would fit in better with the second power.

Re: The Book of Beppo (Design Phase)
Would it be too wild to put some sort of figure movement in there? Like:

Re: The Book of Beppo (Design Phase)
I think I like that better than the disengage. Definitely useful. Superboy already does some of that, but you really can't have too much figure movement (as JL Flash continues to teach me).
