Thanks Bats! Definitely looks like he had basically no impact on the first game, and the loss when he did manage to even remove an Order Marker helps me feel a lot better.

Yeah, he's a good pairing with Lois since she can move from unengaged to engaged at the right time to maximize that power. She really is his star reporter. Clark is nice too, though, because he makes you a little less afraid to have your figures in engagement since Superman can save them once per game when Clark is around. And Jimmy obviously works well with those two. It's a fun little four figure unit for 300 points.

Yeah, major credit to Nobody on that, as Lois really set a fantastic groundwork for it and he followed it up super well with Clark.

Yeah, Clark was a bit of a challenge to get right, but I really like where he ended up.

Really happy with the whole group (LV’s contributions are awesome as well!), and I think I learned a lot about civie designs in general while we made them.

For sure. Civilian designs seem to work best when they accentuate the strengths of the superheroes you want to play them with. Still not sure how well I did on Bruce, but I don't think he turned out terribly at least.

A three round smashing by Superman. Manchester Black whiffed on his attacks and didn't feel like blocking much either, so he died fast. Superman only took 1 wound from Doomsday, who also died quick. It was over turn 1 of round 3, after using Front Page Heroism. Only 1 numbered order marker was placed on Lois, the rest were on Superman.

Who won? List figures remaining in the winning army (include life remaining for heroes): Superman 1 wound/6 life left, Perry full 2 life, Lois and Jimmy full 3 life

Perry sat in the start zone and moved Lois around, which allowed Superman to take extra turns and do some serious damage. Green Arrow chipped in some, but it was mostly Lois and Superman. Game ended turn 1 of round 4, with Perry using Front Page Heroism to help Superman drop Thunderball.

THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT'S COST, BALANCE, & DRAFTABILITY: Perry can do a lot for 30 points but needs other Journalists, and probably a Superman, to be of any real value. A must draft if you are going with Lois and Superman.

GENERAL THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT: Perry is a start zone cheerleader. For 30 points his powers can really be useful in the right builds. He does a great job of putting Journalists in the right spot, and if timed right, Front Page Heroism can be a tide swinging or game ending power. If you can set up the Lois/Superman situation right, Superman could get 4 attacks in a row, very powerful. I was able to get it set up in both games. I found it difficult for opponents to avoid with Perry's free movement and Lois's pre-order marker movement. The Journalist/Superman build was a bit stronger than I thought it would be. I'm looking forward to playing it in the future, something I never thought I would say before testing! Perry did go 2 and 0. Game 1 was a slaughter, but game 2 was a little closer. I'm not sure changing Perry's points would have mattered though, it's just that Superman is a beast. I'd still draft Perry if he was 50 points. I wouldn't recommend power changes, but maybe a points boost?

Not generally surprised by the win in the game 1, as I don't think anyone would expect much of a Manchester Black/Doomsday team up. I think the after thoughts and tendencies in surviving units probably sums it up when you see that Lois was at full life in both games. The Journalists seem to bring back a little of the Superman I style of the best way to kill him is targeting allies first. Ignoring the civvies when fighting Superman is a recipe for disaster. It seems like in here, Perry's contribution to the wins was likely more on the free movement than the initiative win. The initiative win seems like the "finish it" move that just ends the game earlier rather than does much swinging.

Would people feel more comfortable moving ahead with a tweak down of "If it bleeds it leads" or do we want some more testing?

It's so tough when you're dealing with Superman in that he tends to have big wins when his opponent is overmatched, regardless of his help.

Maybe some 'how to play against these guys' suggestions could be helpful when sending a team like this out for testing.

3-1 in Public testing. Another factor is the win rate in low cost games. Superman is generally harder to kill in the lower point stuff. Probably a moot point to share how to play against with Perry being tail end of the Planet stuff, but generally a good thought with pieces like these.

R3: Moment of Heroism gets a moment opening to take out Bulldozer, but Clark can’t fight off Thunderball with all he’s endured. Perry goes down next round.
General thoughts: Uh, well not much you can do when Wrecking Crew rolls crazy impressive. No movement of the thing I wanted to check here, but we will run it again because this tight point value is solid for looking at his impact. Plus Wrecking Crew whiffed like, 2-3 defense rolls here.

R1: Wrecking Crew take out Krypto, but then both a roll giving Kal the opening for he and Jon to take our Wrecker and put one on Piledriver. Jon puts 2 on Piledriver when Clark misses his punches.
R2: Moment of Heroism activated, Lois adjacent to Piledriver. Clark takes out Piledriver.
R3: Jon goes down, and Thunderball accidentally takes out Bulldozer.
R4: Clark takes out Thunderball.
General thoughts: Went the other way this time, but was feeling a big struggle on dice for the Crew this time, especially attempts at Thunderball’s special (other than the one solid hit).

Who won and how many wounds did they have? Superman wins. Superman with 4 wounds. Perry unwounded.
