I thought their armor was nearly indestructible. 4 Defense feels low.
Not sure how the sight point power would be worded but sounds cool.
Always liked.these guys. Did they show up first with the second Doctor?

I like the other two powers as is, but the first power seems like a very reusable squad power (in fact we might already have a power that does that, but probably with disengage? I'd check). My point being that it has a very specific name for a very reusable power.

My idea with the Probic Vent Power is that they can’t cover both engaged figures at once, so one can sneak around and bang them from behind. If another target point was possible, that would be a really cool addition, but it should only be available from melee I’d think.

But...the power moves Sontarans. How many squads need the power to move Sontarans?

Third Doctor, it was the first Sarah Jane story if I remember correctly.

I’d be down with raising their defense, especially if we give them a bigger weakpoint. I’m really liking “hard to take down in direct combat, but can be tricked with a glaring weakpoint” as a uniting vibe for a lot of these Doctor Who baddies.

I missed that the first power isn't just moving their soldiers, but that this might be part of a larger faction. Disregard name change suggestion.

Can Sontarans not be shot in the back from range?

Ah yes, that was when he finally got control of the TARDIS. I thought the third at first but I did not remember it being an earth episode.

I suppose they could but you’d need to have that Luke Skywalker aim to hit the little tiny hole on the back of their neck. I bet Bullseye or Hawkeye could do it, but I don’t think its even been done on the show.

EDIT: I take that back, in The Time Warrior there was an arrow.

I might be overthinking things, though, as I'm not coming up with a strong direction by trying to do that. Because targeting/target points won't be relevant for the adjacent attack.

These guys have figures, but I think they’re in the wrong scale. As a squad with wacky proportions, they’d also be hard to mod unfortunately. But they are higher up on the list of villains I’d actually want to see so I’ll see if I can figure something out.

You have a point about adjacent attacks. I think having the Vent as a seperate targetable point on their back is a really cool mechanic though. It would force them to literally always face their opponent, just like in the show.

Yes please, but with a power that boosts their defense in melee since that's not dependent on hit zones.

PROBIC VENT WEAKNESS
If a figure has clear sight on a Sontaran’s hit zone, that Sontaran cannot roll any defense dice when defending against that figure.

Then give them a defense of 6, and include a clarification in the books that adjacent attacks don’t require target points and pointing out exactly where the probic vent is on their back?

That sounds like a lot of fun.

Sorry.

I’m just saying there could be some clarifications in their book about
-how target zones work in adjacent vs. non-adjacent attacks
-where exactly the vent target zone is on the figure. Most target zone photos are from the front, but the vent is on the back.
