Army Test
- Does it pass, Yes or No? Yes. - What should be the unit's point value? 150. - Give a brief overview. This game really showed Red Arrow's potential in a Sidekick army. The Sidekicks are great at screening for Red Arrow so that he can get his shots off. Just as Robin+Green Arrow+Black Canary can bond, so can any Sidekick+Spoiler+Red Arrow for a nasty triple turn (though not as nasty since they don't hit quite as hard). He didn't feel overpowered, but he added a much need boost to the sidekicks.
Map: Icy Road.
Units: Red Arrow, Robin (Tim), Robin (Dick), Spoiler, Jubilee, 1x Amazon Warriors (580) vs Kingpin, Punisher, Lady Shiva (575).
Spoiler Alert!
Lady Shiva and Kingpin are the first wave of attack. They manage to take out 2 Amazon Warriors and Spoiler before Shiva goes down. Kingpin withstands more of an assault before going down due to his huge defense. Punisher finally takes out the annoying Dick Grayson with a huge 4 skull Armor-Piercing Rocket.
Kingpin finally goes down after a sustained assault (mostly due to Red Arrow's repeated 5 skull attacks from height), but at the same time he and Punisher take down Tim Drake and the last Amazon. Punisher whiffs his next Armor-Piercing Rocket, and gets a couple wounds for his trouble. Then he takes out Red Arrow with a good Rifle Assault (and even gets one wound on Jubi with it), and Jubilee whiffs on Punisher. Punisher has a bad series of Rifle attacks, only managing to get Jubilee up to 3 wounds, and then she takes him out.
Who won and how many wounds did they have?Jubilee (3 wounds).
Army Test
- Does it pass, Yes or No? Yes. - What should be the unit's point value? 150. - Give a brief overview.Went for a more archer oriented team this time. Green Lantern was great for carrying them into position, but without a good set of screeners (like the Sidekicks), Red Arrow wasn't able to do much. Once he gets engaged his bonding stops working. It could work with the right team set-up, but pure archers really isn't the way to go, especially against a bunch of heavy hitters like the Fan4.
Map: Icy Road.
Units: Red Arrow, GL John Stewart, Bane, Green Arrow (Oliver), Green Arrow (Hawke) (960) vs Mister Fantastic, Jocasta, The Thing, Invisible Woman (955).
Spoiler Alert!
Green Lantern helped set up the archers quickly with his Basket Carry. The archers got a few shots off on Fan4 before they get tied up. However, once they get tied up in engagement things start to go awry. Jocasta uses Self-Sacrifice to take out both Oliver and Red Arrow (she dies in the process). However she let Mister Fantastic get to 4 wounds (by not ignoring smaller attacks), which allows the Thing to go crazy on Bane and Green Lantern.
Green Lantern is able to use all his Green Battery markers to Shield Strike the Thing, putting 4 wounds on him all told. Bane doesn't manage to get any wounds on Mister Fantastic before both he and GL John Stewart go down to The Things relentless assault of 2 attacks with 10 dice per turn.
After this Hawke tries to hold his own, but he gets held down by Mister Fantastic and pummeled by The Thing. Hawke whiffs 2 times before going down.
Who won and how many wounds did they have?Mister Fantastic (4 wounds), The Thing (4 wounds), Invisible Woman (0 wounds).

- THEME TEST/ Check to see if there are any powers or stats on the test unit card that does not accurately reflect the theme or likeness of what the character would and could do. Also consider destructible objects, and whether or not this characters powers should affect them. Pass, love it
- MIRROR TEST/ Check to see if the unit were played against itself, if there would be any loops that would upset the balance of the Game. Pass
- BONDING TEST/ Compare the unit card with all possible currently existing Bonding abilities to make sure there are no continual Bonding possibilities that do not stop appropriately or do not stop at all. This is to prevent loops in Bonding. Pass (Maybe?) I found that a Robin, Red Arrow, Spoiler combination is possible allowing 3 attacks per turn. And once Speedy (Mia, that is) is introduced, I am guessing that she will be both a Sidekick (with bonding to an archer) and an Archer. A combination of Green Arrow, Red Arrow and Speedy would allow for 3 ranged attacks per turn. This could be very scary.
- SYNERGIES TEST/ Compare the unit card with all possible currently existing synergies to make sure there are no factors that could break the game by making any unit to powerful or too weak. Pass, but see above.
- POWER CHECK/ Consider the test unit and all existing units and all glyphs to compare to and check for any powers that could be over amplified and break the game. Each power must define when it takes place, who or what it affects, and What are the stipulations on the power if there are any. Pass
- FUN TEST/ Consider whether or not the design was fun to play. Pass
- FUN COMPETITIVE TEST/ Consider whether or not the design was fun to play against. Pass
- DRAFTING TEST/ Consider whether or not this design is worth drafting. Pass
- USAGE TEST/ Consider whether or not all of the powers on this card were used or at least usable. Pass, but Furious Assault was rarely used. Not too surprising from an archer though.
- STRATEGY TEST/ Consider whether or not the design offers any real strategy or interesting tactics to the overall game. Pass.
Army Test

They just took to high ground and shot at the assassins running down the road. Red Arrow only got to use his Speed Shot a few times as he was either out of range or an enemy was engaged with him to prevent it. Although the Vigilantes won I expected more from Red Arrow as this army was built to specifically use his Speed Shot. The only way to have made this army better would have been to include a character who can fly and carry their teammates to the high ground.

I don’t like changing multiple variables however and instead tried to design a team that would break through the Archer’s range. The result was most of the Rogues who would have flying abilities, fog cover, special defense abilities and some attacking powers. Red Arrows team was most of the same from the previous test as there are few (4 currently) archers and sidekicks for him to bond with and I did not want to use Oliver Queen again. The battle itself allowed for many Speed Shot attacks and this was a factor in the game. Red Arrow was also chosen to be the highest point character and he did last the longest.
