Yeah, on Red Dead Redemption II I just had a big shoot out last night! In addition to my new distraction, I kind of wanted to see the public play testing thread get a little more cleared out before I added another design to the list. I was planning on trying to get the initial done this week though.

- Does it pass, Yes or No? Yes, no issues to report after this one.
- What should be the unit's point value? 140 seemed in the ball park after a close one that his team might have won had I played a little smarter.
- Give a brief preview. Capt. America will be boosting the Two-Gun Kid’s (and Bug’s) double attack while bonding with Bucky on his turns. Hawkeye will deliver Bug into the action early while the Two-Gun Kid goes after his Bounty Star-Fire. Raven brings along a couple of Lightning Bolts to throw Bug’s way since he doesn’t like ranged SA’s. Quite a lot of LOS blockers on this map so keeping figures in clear sight of Capt. America might be a challenge.

Bounty Hunter Usage: Bonus att. and def. die when dealing with Starfire.
Ride Out Usage: Moved up when Hawkeye did on OM2 of R1. Used on OM2 of R2 when Hawkeye took a turn to engage Starfire & Nightwing on even ground to keep both from attack others with a HG bonus. Used on OM3 of R3 to engage Raven on even ground, this ended up being a really poor idea as Raven took him out on OM1 of R4. Should have just let Hakweye engage her while Cap & the Two-Gun kid used their ranged att.’s for as long as possible while she fought with Hawkeye. I was trying to take away her HG bonus though and had to engage with her to do so.
Double Attack Usage: Used every time he attacked, which was twice for a total of 4 attacks.
Normal Damage Dealt: Boosted by Cap, deals 1W to Starfire in two attacks from even ground. Boosted by Cap, att. Starfire (who is Reckless and rolling 1 fewer def. die) for 3W, only 2 were needed to capture her dead or alive, 2nd att. directed at Raven from LG, dealt 1W.
Damage Taken: Starfire att. twice due to 1W on Nightwing, Cap hasn’t revealed an OM yet, 1W dealt on both att. for 2W total. Raven att. Two-Gun Kid before Cap can act, rolls 4 skulls on 4 dice and deals 2W to finish him off.
Who won and how many wounds did they have? Raven w/1W won because she’s basically unkillable at the end of the game when facing only single attack heroes.
Play by Play: Bug strikes first thanks to Hawkeye’s orders, boosted by HG & CA he deals a quick 4W to Changeling, but then Starfire flies in and on her first attack (at range) roll Bug whiffs on 7 defense dice and takes a quick 3W himself, so he leaps away out of range of any follow up attacks. Starfire then attacks CA 3 times and scores 1W. Raven moves up to the HG that Bug had to vacate and throws a Lightning Bolt at Bug, who survives. Bug takes HG in a different location and puts down Changeling. Titans win initiative, Raven throws another Lightning Bolt at Bug and fries him this time, Starfire moves up and att. the bounty hunter looking for her from HG, blocked, Nightwing att. Cap from HG and gets blocked. Cap & Bucky att. 4 times combined and score 0 W’s. Starfire redirects her att. towards Cap for 1W from HG. Hawkeye hits Nightwing for 1W with his SA, while Two-Gun engages Starfire. Raven fails to damage Cap from HG with a 4 skull roll. Two-Gun Kid att. Starfire for 1W. Titans win initiative again, Starfire deals 2W to Two-Gun Kid, Raven can’t hit Cap from HG, Nightwing opts to engage Cap & Bucky so he can attack both with his SA, takes out Bucky in two attacks but no damage to Cap. Cap becomes gets angry after seeing Bucky fall, deals 2W to Starfire (who is now not engaged with any friendly figures) and 3W to Nightwing on a def. whiff for a TKO. Starfire tries to pay Cap back with an enraged att. of her own, but gets blocked and she only gets the 1 att. since Nightwing fell. Two-Gun Kid takes down his Bounty, then att. Raven from LG for 1W. This ends up being a bad idea, should have just opted not to attack with the 2nd att., as Raven transfers that W to Cap. Hawkeye & Two-Gun kid both engage with Raven on even ground, Hawkeye fails to deal a W though. Raven wins initiative and quickly takes down the Two-Gun Kid. Cap att. from LG with his normal att. but fails to deal a W. Raven fails to W Cap, OM2 was lost on the Two-Gun Kid, Raven has no W’s to transfer but scores 1W on Cap from HG. Hawkeye scores 1W on Raven before moving over adj. to Cap. Raven wins initiative again, Cap has not won initiative even once this game, and is faced with a dilemma. She can transfer 1W to Cap now and take him out but lose OM2 & 3 in the process, or att. normally from HG and hope to score the final wound while keeping the W transfer for later. She opts to att. and Cap blocks. Cap scores a W on Raven. Raven att. again and takes Cap down. Hawkeye moves back up to even ground but fails to score a W. Raven transfers a W to Hawkeye. Hawkeye still can’t deal any W’s to Raven. Hawkeye wins initiative and deals 1W!!!! That’s the last W he deals though as he gets blocked on his next 2 att., Raven scores 2W on her 2nd att. though, then transfers the final W on OM3 for the win.

Recap: Cap had a pretty good game in this one, rolling solid defense to ward off a lot of really strong attack rolls against him. Bug takes out Changeling right away, then falls himself right after, so the two ~200 point units canceled each other out. The remaining ~600 points have a good back and forth with Cap dropping a 3 life Nightwing, then Starfire going down soon after for a seemingly nice win by the Avengers, but enough W’s had been inflicted before they went down to give Raven a fighting chance and she took advantage of it. The Two-Gun kid fell before his double attack could be put to work on cracking Ravens MD (I made the mistake to engaging Two-Gun with Raven on Hawkeye’s turn instead of waiting to reveal and OM on his card.) Titans also won every initiative roll until the last round and Raven proved unstoppable when facing single attack heroes, especially when those heroes struggled to score W’s even though the odds said they should have been doing so easily. Hawkeye in particular kept using his SA to roll 3 att. die vs. 2 def. die and could not score a hit.

- Does it pass, Yes or No? Yes, mechanically sound.
- What should be the unit's point value? Moving and not attacking has limited usefulness as he’s too fragile to want to have him too close to the action, and my circle around back idea didn’t work here due to the large number of common squad figures being spread out. Still 140 doesn’t seem too far off even after a decent loss.
- Give a brief preview. Two figures to move bond with but only 1 figure available for the bounty. A lot of Apes need to be taken down so Two-Gun’s double attack might be helpful there, although the plan is for She-Hulk and Iceman to smash into the gorilla wall while Two-Gun circles around for a flank move on Grodd.

Ride Out Usage: R1T1, moves with Iceman. R1T2 moves with She-Hulk, moves into pool of water where the apes can’t get to him on their next turn. R1T3, could have moved with Ice-Man but didn’t, Grodd has circled to the opposite side of the board and there are too many apes blocking Two-Gun’s path right now so he put the Jet Bike in neutral for now. Also stays put in R2T1 & R2T2. R3,T2 finds himself engaged with an Ape and does not want to take the LEA so he again stays put.
Double Attack Usage: Used to attack two different Apes from HG x2, att. the same Ape twice on even ground. Att. Grodd on even ground twice.
Normal Damage Dealt: Killed 2 Apes from HG, killed 1 Ape from HG, killed 1 Ape on even ground,
Damage Taken: 1W from an Ape attack on even ground, 1W from Grodd on even ground, Apes surround him and attack, 1W from even ground, 1W from LG.
Who won and how many wounds did they have? Grodd w/2W & 3 GCWs won.

Recap: She Hulk moved out onto a spot of HG where she could initially only be engaged by two ground pounders at once from LG, Bobby moved up in support and killed 1 Ape before they beat him into a bloody pulp. She-Hulk easily dropped one Ape as well, but Grodd has climbed up next to her on even ground now, but fails to harm her Hard Body. Two-Gun opted to first help clear out the Apes and dropped two from HG. Then he won initiative and takes down another Ape. The Apes now are getting +2 to their attack and two deal 3W to She-Hulk while a 3rd Ape engages Two-Gun on even ground, Grodd deals a 4th W to She-Hulk. She-Hulk turns her wrath on Grodd for 2W. She Hulk goes down, Two-Gun takes a W. Two-Gun takes out the Ape he’s engaged with. Grodd takes a turn by himself, engages the Bounty Hunter and deals 1W. Two-Gun att. his Bounty twice to no avail. Apes surround and pound Two-Gun. Apes kind of dominated this one, fairly poor match in retrospect. Grodd’s 5+1 defense was just too good for this low level Bounty Hunter and the Apes 3-4 attacks of 5 or 6 was too much for She-Hulk to withstand. I should have left her in the SZ while trying to thin out the Apes using hit and run tactics with Bobby & Two-Gun, then maybe she could have won the day at the end vs. Grodd if they took out enough of the GCW before going down.

Army Test 3
- Does it pass, Yes or No? yes, no concerns about the full bonding here.
- What should be the unit's point value? 150 feels too high after 2+ tests, could go public at 140 or even 130.
- Give a brief preview. With Luke providing full bonding instead of just move only bonding we’ll see what kind of damage the Two-Gun Kid can do with more activations. Bumped his cost up to 150 for this game to see how that holds up when he has full bonding. Green Arrow will be the Two-Gun Kid’s bounty here since he has a ranged attack of his own, while Luke & Danny go toe to toe with the vigilantes and their sidekick.

Game 1: Luke, Danny, & Two-Gun move up but never manage to engage, Green Arrow scores and early wound that Danny heals away. Black Canary, Green Arrow, & Robin all att. Luke to end the round but only muster up 1W. Rorschach wins initiative and gives Luke another W, Luke needs to be healed so him and Danny throw down on Black Canary, but only manage to deal 1W (Danny rolls 1 skull on 7 dice). Black Canary launches 4 attacks on Luke for 3W, Green Arrow finishes him off, OM2 & 3 are lost, Luke only bonded with Two-Gun once to move but not attack so this test has been a total bust. I’m starting over.
Game 2: This time I’m just going to hide the Fighters behind a hedge and wait for the Vigilantes to cross the board. That will hopefully stretch them out enough to give Luke a chance. R2, T2, Vigilantes have won initiative and steadily moved across the board while the Fighter huddled up in ambush, not they spring into action with Luke & Two-Gun going after Robin from LG, but no damage is done. Canary moves up to engage Luke and protect Robin, att. Luke 3 times for 2W, Green Arrow kills Luke. Game over again, this is a total waste of time.
Who won and how many wounds did they have? Throwing in the towel here after watching Luke drop twice now to 1OM reveal from Black Canary.

Recap: Very limited data here, but I did manage to full bond Luke with Two-Gun once where he attacked, and no damage was done. The low attack of 3 really keeps the potential limited to anyone other than his Bounty and even then you want to be on HG if you can.

Looking good for 130-140.

Raven really is the closest thing to unkillable if you're only getting 1 attack per OM (and you can't get around MD). Had that come up in one of my Beast Boy tests. You need to be a heavy hitter to be able to outlast her while you're getting a max of 2 wounds on her in a round.

Yeah, even though I try to prioritize taking her out with multiple attacks early, Starfire pops up and starts wrecking shop so I end up needing to take her out first before I wound other figures, plus Nightwing requires a lot of attacks to generate a whiff and he's the guy who is giving them 3 turns with 1 OM, so she ends up avoiding the heat some by default.

Anyway, after sleeping on it I still feel he's offering you slightly more than Jonah Hex does at 130, so I'm thinking 140 is where he'll end up.

I Propose we send Two-Gun Kid to Public Playtesting at 140 points.
