Arenascape!
Arenascape follows many of the same basic rules as Heroscape and Arena of the Planeswalkers, but for the sake of mixing the two games together, I've invented some new rules for a more fluid gameplay experience.
Players select the Planeswalker they wish to use and build around. Players draft 500 point armies. Players build 200 point spell decks. The old Heroscape order marker system is in place. An errata list has been put in place (will post below) to keep things more fluid in gameplay. Planeswalkers are immune to all instant death effects, such as Wo-Sa-Ga's Coil Crush and Sujoah's Poison Sting. Spells that could only enchant a unique squad may now enchant any squad. How order markers work in Arenascape: During round 1, your turn 1 order marker will always be on your planeswalker, and your remaining 3 will be on units you plan to summon, due to your opponents not knowing which units are actually being activated, and which one has the X marker on it, it can make your opponent nervous and force them to play carefully, keeping the original feel of Heroscape's stategic game play. How enchant squads work in Arenascape: Enchant squad effect will only ever effect a maximum of 3 units in the squad at a time, these 3 units are declared and marked at the time of the spell's casting using a custom marker, my suggestion is a painted damage maker. Errata List Undead Races: Zombie Spirit Vampire Draconic Races: Dragon Drake Wyvern Elven Races: Elf Half Elf Drow Angellic Races: Angel Kyrie The following types are now treated as the same creature type: Merfolk = Sahuagin Eldrazi = Marro An example of what this means is, Eldrazi are now treated as Marro and vice versa. Color assignment is easy to apply to units, in general, it goes as follows: Dragons - Red (with some exception, Nilfheim being blue, Charos being green and Braxas being black) Elves - Green Drow - Black Undead - Black Marro - Colorless (due to their similarity in origin to the Eldrazi and their affordable cost, making them usable as filler) Sahuagin - Blue Arachnids - Black/Green (hybrid, may be used in either color army) Elementals - Their color relies on their namesake, Fire = Red. Water and Greater Ice = Blue. Earth = Green And Air = White Goblins - Red Ogres - Black Trolls - Red Samurai - Red Ninja - Blue Soldiers - White Wyvern - Green Robot - Colorless Wizard - Blue Doggin - Green Wolf - Green Human - Varies. Jandar Humans are white. Some humans colors depend on their class, such as Ninja or Samurai. Agents - Blue Fiantooth - Red Dwarves - Red Soulborg - Colorless *More to Come* Most can be figured out with some common sense, pretty much anything following Jandar, with some exception, will be white. Custom assigning the MTG figures to Generals is where it gets trickier. Planeswalkers: Chandra Nalaar, Pyromancer - Aquilla Nahiri, Fury in Stone - Aquilla Kiora the Rising Tide - Aquilla Gideon Jura, Combat Mage - Jandar Jace Beleren, Mindmage - Vydar Jace Beleren, Investiagor - Vydar Liliana Vess, Necromancer - Utgar Ob Nixilis, Demon of Spite - Utgar Arlinn Kord Goldnight/Moonblessed - Ullar Nissa Revane, Animist - Ullar Sorin of the Eternal Thirst - Valkrill Heroes: Avacyn on Bloodied Wings - Aquilla - Unique Hero Mad Prophet - Aquilla - Unique Hero Eldrazi Ruiner - Utgar - Unique Hero Ghoul Vanguard - Utgar - Unique Hero Kor Aeronaut Captain - Vandar - Unique Hero Merfolk Roilmage - Ullar - Unique Hero Necro-Alchemist - Vydar - Unique Hero Squads: Eldrazi Scions - Utgar - Common Squad Blighted Reavers - Utgar - Common Squad Bloodline Nobles - Utgar - Common Squad Malakir Bloodchasers - Utgar - Common Squad Restless Zombies - Utgar - Common Squad Goblin Javelineers - Utgar - Common Squad Lantern Geists - Utgar - Common Squad Rhox Veterans - Vandar - Common Squad Kor Hookmasters - Vandar - Common Squad Leyline Phantoms - Vydar - Common Squad Illusionary Projections - Vydar - Common Squad Avacynian Inquisitors - Aquilla - Common Squad Blazing Firecats - Einar - Common Squad Flamewing Phoenixes - Einar - Common Squad Elf Rangers - Ullar - Common Squad Kessig Rangers/Ravagers - Ullar - Common Squad Path Wardens - Ullar - Common Squad Pummelroot Elementals - Ullar - Common Squad Skirsdag Cultists - Valkrill - Common Squad All other rules remain the same Comment questions and if you feel something needs to be corrected!
