The Sentinels couldn't match the Mutants' efficiency, so a lot came down to their defense rolls; they had much better luck in game two than game one, and managed to eke out the win there. The defense subtraction was definitely handy for punching through the Mutants' defenses and actually scoring some wounds on their single-attack activations.

Strong match-up for Onslaught's team, but he managed to clean up pretty hard. The Sentinels were rolling hot and had some strong initial successes; they managed to bring down Wolverine, Darkholme, and put some wounds on Selene.

When Onslaught eventually swooped in, he no-sold a lot of attacks without even needing his X reveal. He was pretty lucky, but still a really dominant showing.

THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT'S COST, BALANCE, & DRAFTABILITY: They give the Sentinels enough juice to actually compete a bit with Mutants, which is cool. Might be a bit much layered on with Onslaught? That bears further testing, IMO - they were in a strong match-up here, but it was a pretty dominant Onslaught + Sentinel showing.

Sentinel Learning Program: 4 out of the 6 X-men had markers placed on them. Angel and Professor X moved out of range enough to avoid placement.

Deep Freeze Special Attack: Used many times, avoided use against Iceman. Never was able to remove an order marker though. Mostly because of Professor X staying away and being an order marker hub.

7 round game that looked like it was going to be over quick. Round 1 was mostly movement. Trask's movement ability was key in getting Troopers and Sentinels moving forward, fast. Round 2 the action started. Professor X took a quick 2 wounds as did Cyclops, but Iceman and Beast were able to drop 2 Troopers and the Blue Mark 5 Sentinel. Round 3 started out rough for the X-men, turn 1 Cyclops goes down and Beast takes 4 wounds. Beast is able to strike back doing 2 wounds to Pink and 1 to the Sentinel 160, but it was short lived as Red took him out next turn. Starting round 4 the X-men were in trouble with Beast and Cyclops gone and everyone but Angel with wounds. Over the next 2 rounds though the X-men made it close. At the start of round 7 it was a full life Angel vs Trask, 2 troopers and a wounded Sentinel 160, unfortunately that was too much for Angel to over come and he didn't make it out of the round.

Sentinel Learning Program: Easily placed on 4 out of 5 Outcast. Made a big difference

Deep Freeze Special Attack: Used many times, but no order marker removal.

Played this game against BlubberGuy22. Landslide of a game. I wanted to try the Outcasts to see how the Sentinels would deal with Magneto tossing them around, but Magneto went down very fast and it was pretty much over after that. The Outcasts lack of long a range attack outside of Magneto really hurt them. Sentinel team did almost all the damage with a couple of Troopers, Pink and Yellow Mark V and a Original Sentinel. Trask, Blue, Red and 1 Trooper never left the start zone. None of the Sentinels didn't take a wound until round 4.

THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT'S COST, BALANCE, & DRAFTABILITY: 150 is probably right but might need a bump. I think drafting Bolivar Trask is a must as well as at least 1 original 160 pt Sentinel to any 150 pt Mark V Sentinel team.

GENERAL THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT: Sentinels went 2-0 in my games. One was close against a strong Classic X-men team and one was a blowout against BlubberGuy22's Outcast Army. I will say that BlubberGuy had terrible dice, and a team I gave him, that in hindsight, lacked some firepower. He played it right, but his squad was just over matched. His comment was that the Sentinels were fun, but we both thought that the Sentinel Learning Program power may need to be looked at. In both games it was pretty easy to drop markers on figures. Especially figures with no or short range(4 or less). Minus 2 defensive dice is a really strong power. We thought that maybe limiting it to 1 marker per figure could work, or make it only minus 1 die that could stack to a max of 2 markers. It was really noticeable in game 2 where only Magneto had the ability to strike from outside the power's range, the problem is Magneto wants to get close so he can toss some figures around. I thought Deep Freeze Special Attack is a great reuse of a power. I never hit a d20 roll to remove an order marker though. Bolivar Trask and the Original 160 pt Sentinel work so well with this design. Trask gets them moving fast early in a game and allows for multiple turns once you start attacking, and the 160 pt Sentinel makes order marker placement a breeze by acting as a hub. It really makes for an easy team to play, place an x-marker on Trask and the rest on the 160 pt Sentinel. I'm excited to see what other teams people play against them and how they do. I really liked playing them but I'm concerned Sentinel Learning Program may be just a bit strong.

Generally they're looking a bit hot when you start getting double activations with them - updated the SP to drop em down to 1 marker. I'd rather they be able to target the beefy defensive types and give Sentinels a shot against them vs smearing -1 Defense around to everyone.

Round 7: Professor X stops the first attack from Mastermold, then wheels up to Mastermold and punches him for 1 wound. Mastermold does a Flying Elbow on Professor X and destroys him.

THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT'S COST, BALANCE, & DRAFTABILITY: Fun design that definitely boosts the Sentinel team. Like the previous Sentinel, they really need the multiple attacks offered by Mastermold.

GENERAL THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT: A couple of thoughts came up during the playtest:
1) There is almost no reason to ever use their base attack (even against Iceman).

2) It would be nice if a newly created Sentinel from Mastermold would have another learning marker. (although MM failed to make any Sentinels in our game)
