Re: The Book of Rorschach ~~ Design Phase
Agreed.
Nitpicky procedure note. I don't think it'll matter this time, but typically we don't send out to ERB until the Breathing Period is up, just to let the Heroes have the first crack at it, so to speak. C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: The Book of Rorschach ~~ Design Phase
I still don't get all the time frame stuff. Heck, I sent out the ERB's for my last LD's during playtesting, I'm pretty sure, so I'm just glad I remembered.

Fair enough. Thus the reminders.

Re: The Book of Rorschach ~~ Design Phase
C3G INITIAL PLAYTEST FEEDBACK FORM
NAME OF THE TEST UNIT Rorschach - THEME TEST/ Check to see if there are any powers or stats on the test unit card that does not accurately reflect the theme or likeness of what the character would and could do. Also consider destructible objects, and whether or not this characters powers should affect them. Pass It felt just like Rorschach. Reckless and violent, he was awesome. - MIRROR TEST/ Check to see if the unit were played against itself, if there would be any loops that would upset the balance of the Game. Pass - BONDING TEST/ Compare the unit card with all possible currently existing Bonding abilities to make sure there are no continual Bonding possibilities that do not stop appropriately or do not stop at all. This is to prevent loops in Bonding. Pass - SYNERGIES TEST/ Compare the unit card with all possible currently existing synergies to make sure there are no factors that could break the game by making any unit to powerful or too weak. Pass - POWER CHECK/ Consider the test unit and all existing units and all glyphs to compare to and check for any powers that could be over amplified and break the game. Each power must define when it takes place, who or what it affects, and what are the stipulations on the power if there are any. Pass - FUN TEST/ Consider whether or not the design was fun to play. Pass - FUN COMPETITIVE TEST/ Consider whether or not the design was fun to play against. Pass - DRAFTING TEST/ Consider whether or not this design is worth drafting. Pass - USAGE TEST/ Consider whether or not all of the powers on this card were used or at least usable. Pass - STRATEGY TEST/ Consider whether or not the design offers any real strategy or interesting tactics to the overall game. Pass Heavy Hitter or Mid-Level Hero Test - Does it pass, Yes or No? Yes - What should be the unit's point value? 120-125 - Give a brief overview. Aside from rotten luck, he wasn’t too bad. Definitely packs a punch, though. Map: Forsaken Waters
Spoiler Alert!
_____________________________________________________________ Squad Test - Does it pass, Yes or No? Yes - What should be the unit's point value? 120-125 - Give a brief overview. Hired Guns are nasty. Not expecting him to win, haha! Map: Forsaken Waters Units: Hired Guns
Spoiler Alert!
_____________________________________________________________ Squad Test - Does it pass, Yes or No? Yes - What should be the unit's point value? 130-140 - Give a brief overview. Rorschach kills a thug every turn, but 4 life and defense only go so far. He definitely fought well here, though. Map: Forsaken Waters Units: Street Thugs x2
Spoiler Alert!
_____________________________________________________________ Army Test - Does it pass, Yes or No? Yes - What should be the unit's point value? 130 - Give a brief overview. He lasted the longest out of everyone. Mikhlo is NASTY, sucking in a TON of attacks while the others shot up the Vigilantes. Map: Forsaken Waters Units: Rorschach (At 130ish), Nite Owl, Batman, Robin (Tim), Robin (Dick) (680) Vs. Red Ghost = Super Apes (700)
Spoiler Alert!
_____________________________________________________________ Army Test - Does it pass, Yes or No? Yes - What should be the unit's point value? 140 - Give a brief overview. Rorschach is brutal in close combat, especially when he gets height and paired with Nite Owl! He has lots of attack potential, with low survivability, so you kind of have to play him a bit recklessly, which I believe is true to the character. I had no problem running him into the middle of the opponent’s army knowing he’d probably get killed (Ironically he survived a while after he rushed Hush, he just didn’t do any damage!). With all the vigilante synergies we’ve got going here, he’s a lot better than in the heavy hitter tests. Map: Forsaken Waters Units: Rorschach (130), Batman II, Nite Owl, Batgirl, Batman (Terry), Robin (Tim), Robin (Dick) (1010) Vs Hush, Bane, Mr. Freeze, Black Mask, Ventriloquist, Street Thugs x3 (1015)
Spoiler Alert!

Re: The Book of Rorschach ~~ Design Phase
Gotta say, I think he's my favorite out of the initials I've done so far.
I'm thinking 140 for testing. He didn't get that much out of the heavy hitter tests and such, but with Nite Owl and Robin as back up, he's pretty brutal. I think Dick Grayson will be his best friend, distracting enemies to protect his low life/defense. He dies quick, but he can do damage. |

Re: The Book of Rorschach ~~ Design Phase
I dunno. I was feeling about 120 until the second army test. I'd go 130, personally.
But I trust you - so as long as it's in that general range, here's my pre-yea for testing. C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: The Book of Rorschach ~~ Design Phase
I'm more comfortable sending it out at 140, I think. We can see what other testers think.
Alright, I whipped up a bio (Well, Alan Moore did. ), how do you guys think about it? I can cut down that second paragraph if it's too graphic. Or if you'd rather go our conventional backstory route. Thought this might be pretty cool here. |
