Bit of a dilemna (i think thats how u spell it)

I plan on buying a Wii and I currently own a PS2.
If I trade the ps2 in i can get the wii for much cheaper.
I barely play the ps2 anymore and i would eventually (a year or 2 after) buy a PS3.
I'm having trouble deciding and i need help.
is it worth trading the ps2 in and saying goodbye to sony games for a while to get the Wii?

Any advice is appreciated.

yeah, super smash bros: brawl is coming out in a week. Those games are the only ones you'll ever need besides HS.

Make sure when you buy a PS3 that you buy one that is backwards compatible. They are not all that way. Do your homework on that purchase and you should be fine. I'd probably do the same...give up the PS2 games for a short while, knowing I can play them again if I purchase the correct PS3.

If you own guitar hero or any other special accessories or controllers for PS2, be aware that they will not work on PS3.

i heard about the compatibility issues with the PS3.

I think i'll probably trade in the ps2 and wait a while for the ps3, in the meantime i'll have the Wii and SSBB to entertain me.

Don't count on that; Wii's are damn near impossible to find (at least where I live anyway...), and SSBB does no good without a Wii...I haven't seen a Wii anywhere since before Thanksgiving.

Wii've got them in New England. Then again, New England gamers are strongly anti-Nintendo.

Really? I'm not all that privy to the video gaming scene so I wouldn't know any better, but Nintendo has always been my preference.
