Re: The Book of Civilians
Lol. That would be fun to watch. I've got 3 sets of civilians, one of which is complete with the fireman, the other two have an extra hooker or mom and son to make up for shortage of firemen on the market.

Re: The Book of Civilians
I'm 4 Firemen away from having 5 complete sets. Grr ...
C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: The Book of Civilians
A list of humans would take forever, so just add these under synergy benefits recieved:
"Civilians can roll an additional attack or defense die if there is a friendly human adjacent to them." "Civilians may move when a figure you control rols defense dice." Like Superheroes and Comics?

Re: The Book of Civilians
That second one is kind of saying "they have synergy with other figures" so I don't really think it's necessary ... The first one is good, though, and I'll put up an update.

Re: The Book of Civilians
Rats meet Zombies in this fun loving squad!
The strength with the Civilians is truly there point cost. At 45 points with 4 members per squad they break down to 11.25 points per figure! Such a huge bargain in C3G. Crowd Movement - Movement is key with these guys... as I will explain later. Strength in numbers - There stats are awful, true, but don't forget to add 1 to Defense/Offense rolls ((You better be rolling D more)) Panic - Again, movement is key! To me the proper way to play the Civilians is the same way you would play the Rats in standard scape... as a 10 point piece designed to surround your opponent and forcing them to waste turns swinging at a 11 point figure as opposed to your heavy hitter. The only difference here is they don't have solid Defense like the rats did. So you need to switch it up a bit instead of zerging out like you would with Rats. Play them a bit more cautiously at the start of the game, moving them up with the rest of your army. This can easily be done using Crowd Movement which allows you to move 2 full squads at once. Later in the game is when you want to kamikaze your Civilians. As soon as any Hero moves in to threaten you, quickly surround them with Civilians! If your civilians are close to the rest of your army an opponent will rarely target them with ranged attacks if there is a Hero they can attack instead. This plays to the Civilians strength, allowing you to properly surround your opponents and forcing them to attack you. And if they do happen to attack the Civilians instead of a Hero then that is what they are designed to do anyways! Panic - The C3G version of Scatter... When one falls replace him with two more! If you are able to force your opponents 300+ point Hero figure to waste even a single attack on a Civilian that could have rather been used to attack one of your Heroes then to me they more then did there job. Pairings with Civilians - Figures with a heavy ranged attack. Green Arrow/Cyclops to name a few. The idea here is to move your civilians with a Hero that can out range your opponent. Keep your Hero behind the Civilians and take pop shots at your opponent which will force them closer to you. And when they move in just a bit closer surround them with Civilians. Anyone that can move/throw enemies into clusters of them. You may not even need to surround an enemy if you can throw them into a pre-selected Civilian trap. Pick up the best of both worlds and grab Magneto. His range of 7 with Magnetic Shield makes him tough from range. Keep 2 squads of Civilians near by and when your opponent moves in drop his shield and throw them into the wolves! then continue taking shots at them or toss them from squad to squad and roll for the wound.. your choice! If your opponent moves in with anyone that has a Whirlwind like attack ((Beast/Daredevil)) be sure not to waist squad members by surrounding them! Just engaging 1 at a time will do in that case. Your opponent will still likely attack the Civilian instead of taking the passing swipe... Win/Win either way! Figures to watch out for - Anyone with a Phantom Walk like ability ((Flash/Elektra)). You will not be able to tie them down or force them to waist attacks on your Civilians ... You will have to deal with them another way. Other then that be weary of figures like Cyclops that has a straight line special attack Or anyone with a explosive like special... and try to position the mob accordingly. Cheers! |

Re: The Book of Civilians
I need to spread some rep around. You are an amazing strategy writer. Keep at it. These are very valuable and I hope you either make an index of them all or they get linked to the first post of all the Books.
