Let's design a tank....
We have been discussing this on several threads...so lets just do it...post all your tank thoughts here and maybe we can take everyones thoughts and suggestions and actually do this to see how it works.

It'd have to have carry. And a shooting attack, maybe close to M. Q9?
Probably would have some sort of move bonus when on grass/rock, and a detremental effect when on sand. Also probably couldn't go through 3 or more water (In other words could never have a water in front and behind, so as to say that it can't float.) Would definately need a fairly high defense or life. First off, I beleive that a tank should be just a normal unit. What I mean by this is that alot of people talk about having tanks "manned". For example, A WWII tank commander hero would be perfectly fine, but a Roman driving a tank that happens to be set on the battlefield is not. Secondly, a tank should have good, rounded stats. A high move is a must. Several people think of tanks as slow, hulking objects, but they tread much faster than a human. A speed of at least seven is a good idea on my part. Also, to be realistic, a range of at least eight spaces would be needed. If an AE can shoot from that long of a range, surely to god a tank can. The attack can vary, anywhere between two and four seems about right. The defense, I would say about five. This sounds weak, but I will explain here later. The life is tricky, but a setting of two or three would be nice. Now, as far as powers go, there is the obvious choice of Carry. Also, either Tough or Reinforced Defense needs to be initiated. To think that a medieval grut arrow can pierce the armored hide of a tank is laughable. Finally, and most interestingly, an Armor Piercing Cannon Special Attack. Similar to Explosion, but I am thinking of a twist: Armor Piercing Cannon Special Attack Range 5, Attack 4 Choose a target to attack. All figures adjacent to the target of this Special Attack are also affected. Roll the attack dice once for all affected figures. The defending figures will roll one at a time for defense, beginning with the targeted figure. All Destructable Objects and Soulborgs affected by this attack roll 3 less defence dice when being attacked by the Tank's Armor Piercing Cannon. Now, this is an obviously expensive unit. It requires at least 200 points. But for the power, it is worth it. Bye, bye Major Q9 dominance! If you wanted a twist, make the tank have one life and make it a common hero. Two of these things on the field of battle equals massive devastation. Just my |

Huh, that sounds like a good idea too me. It would have to be packaged 2 or 1 to the pack, because of how big a tank is.

With the treads, It would be able to ignore small changes in terrain height, but wouldn't be able to handle large ones, so a specialized tread movement could be an idea.
But that's just my Never underestimate the power of a well coordinated squirrel army. |
