I was just in your area somewhat yesterday...Had to visit a client and then headed to up to SHSU in Huntsville to view a project.
Would I want it to be everything I love...sure...but that's just not realistic so I'm going to focus on finding things that will make me unhappy and work on fixing those.

So, my Secret Santa got me some pretty high-end 'Clix - Gert/Old Lace & SamCap. I'd love to take pictures and for the first time, I may be our only hope... so, any chance a phone/tablet can get high enough resolution for our art team? Or am I going to have to borrow someone's actual camera.

For reference, here is a (low, artificial, indoor lighting) picture of them with my Surface 3 tablet. Is there any hope there?

I don't know. Perhaps with better light. As is that is really grainy. I have taken some usable shots with my iPhone 5 so I'm not going to say it's impossible but it does take good light and a non digital zoom to make it work. The problem is that on lower end cameras you can only zoom so far before it goes to a digital zoom which just reduces the resolution.
Would I want it to be everything I love...sure...but that's just not realistic so I'm going to focus on finding things that will make me unhappy and work on fixing those.

Yeah, ideally you're right in natural sunlight and right up on the minis (like super up on them) with the camera. At least in my experience working with bad cameras. lol
C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Exactly...you take out all the disadvantages with the camera and it's lens that way. You don't let it zoom or adjust for light. then it's just a plain picture and if your camera has high enough resolution you're good.
Would I want it to be everything I love...sure...but that's just not realistic so I'm going to focus on finding things that will make me unhappy and work on fixing those.
