From the depths of space an ancient vessel drifts slowly towards the Imperium of Mankind - a space hulk. Within its confines, untold thousands of Genestealers slowly emerge from hibernation. Space Hulk is a board game for two players, recreating the battles fought between the Space Marines and Genestealers. One player commands the Space Marines as they carry out deadly missions in the ancient Space Hulk, and the other commands the horde of Genestealers opposing them. Space Hulk's fast-paced rules simulate the tense atmosphere of a mission deep inside the cramped confines of a derelict space hulk, where split-second decisions are needed for victory.
This boxed game contains: a 23-page Rulebook, a 47-page Mission book and 35 finely-detailed, plastic Citadel miniatures, including: 11 Space Marine Terminators, one Space Marine Terminator Librarian, 22 Genestealers, and one Broodlord.
Also included are: 105 gaming counters, 24 corridors, 10 rooms, eight crossroads, eight T-junctions, six corner sections, four dead ends, four end pieces, 20 doors with plastic stands, one mission status display, and three plastic mission objectives, including: a dead Space Marine on throne, a Blood Angels artefact and a Cyber-Altered Task Unit. Some of this info is bollocks.

First, this is a short-run limited edition new copy of Space Hulk. They will not be shipping any out besides preorders from their distributors and individuals. The only way for us commoners to get it is to order direct from Games Workshop at their online site. I don't know about the 70K number of units, but I don't believe that there's a market for 70K units....the article I read noted preorders only.

It's 99$ per box, free standard shipping. I know because I ordered mine already.

ughh the mariens are red this is a worst desission, like the grey mariens from the second edition., and the last straler pack that i bought had even grey stealer . in that facct because im a bad painter i paint all silver, because i had metal terminators and grey is goos for silver.

I still have a figure case full of metal terminators that I bought for the first edition. Most of them undercoated black.

I suppose that I ought to paint them up in the same colours that I used for my Epic 40k army (6mm; got almost an entire Space Marine Chapter in 6 mil, they're just so easy to paint). The Chapter is the Silver Skulls - largely because - as dra(gon) points out - it's possible to do a good looking figure in a metallic colour in about half the time that it takes to do the same figure in something like red or blue. Plus I *never* got the hang of doing red correctly on a Space Marine's armour; I'm fine with a Roman's red tunic, but there's something about red armour that means I could never paint it well.

It'd be a lot faster to paint my old figures than to assemble, undercoat and paint the new figures. A *lot* faster.

Of course, I might not bother to begin with. I did manage to finish the two basic squads of terminators that came in the 1st ed box, so I might just use those for the first couple of games.

Dude, I'm right there with you on the red armor (yellow too for that matter). I'm almost dreading they day when I'm ready to paint my space hulk stuff.
