kolakoski's New Custom Idea - Moonlight!
While thinking about powers for my Superduper Samurai Swordsman custom (Dragon Samurai mini) in the mistaken belief that it qualified for the latest Speed Custom contest, I came up with a power more appropriate for the Dragonblade Ninja mini. I call it the Ki Special Power.
It is based on the well known and highly anecdotal (though some of the believers are heavy duty martial artists) power of Ki (seen much in the late revival of the TV series Kung Fu with the late David Carradine). In the martial arts, Ki is the internal spirit. Adepts are said to be able to not merely enhance existing physical attacks with it, but to project it with just a touch (or even from a distance). I envision the Ki Special Power to operate something like this: Dragonblade Range: Special, Attack: 3 Roll attack dice once. Apply the result to all enemy figures adjacent to Dragonblade, or adjacent to any figures adjacent to him, or adjacent to any figures adjacent to Dragonblade, ad infinitum. Please help with the language. Basically the Ki energy travels through all (friendly and enemy) figures that are in a chain of adjacency. Last edited by kolakoski; March 15th, 2013 at 06:34 PM. |

Re: Dragonblade Ninja (D&D mini) Custom Idea
KI SPECIAL ATTACK
Range special. Attack 3. All figures adjacent to Dragonblade are affected by the Ki Special Attack. Any figure adjacent to an affected figure is also affected by the Ki Special Attack. Roll attack dice once for all affected figures. Affected figures roll defense separately. Friendly figures never receive wounds from Ki Special Attack. Dragonblade is never affected by his own Ki Special Attack. From you primary description I gathered that the Ki could travel through friendly figures but would not inflict any wounds on them. Is that the correct interpretation? Aldin's description is shorter than mine which is always a good thing when writing ability text. |

Kamehameha!
Ki Special Attack looks like it could be extremely potent in say a starting zone. This would also maybe stop turtling. |

kolakoski's Custom Ideas - Moonlight Card Added 3/13/13!
Well met!
I've been thinking about getting involved with the SCA (Society of Creative Anachronism), and wielding 2 swords. The basic idea is to simultaneously slash straight down (or up) with one while slashing straight across (right to left or vice versa depending on which side is shielded) with the other. Moonlight That got me thinking about creating a custom Ninja with the same sort of attack (Moriko came to mind because of this). P.S.: Moonlight is actually a Picasa-edited version of Moriko's official photo, rather than a repaint. Last edited by kolakoski; March 13th, 2013 at 06:03 PM. |
