Deathwalker 9000

Hi Guys:

I just bought the Rise of the Valkyrie set and I was looking over some of the scenarios and piece cards. I am a life long Chess player where army strength is even. Looking at the cards here I see the Deathwalker 9000 and his defense is very solid. In a scenario where the game is about killing all of the opponent's pieces, doesn't this represent a sizeable advantage or is there a reliable tactic that can be used? I don't really see a comparable piece to draft if the DW is already taken. Drake Alexander?
