Yeah, as it stands he can just hold onto his glyphs against melee opponents and make attacking him a bad idea.

What about:

If Spot is attacked by a normal attack and at least 1 skull is rolled, if there is at least one Glyph of Spot on this card or Spot occupies a Glyph of Spot, you may roll the 20-sided die. Add 2 to your roll for each Glyph of Spot on this card. If you roll 16-19, ignore that attack. If you roll 21 or higher, you may instead choose a figure within 1 space of Spot or a Glyph of Spot that is on the battlefield. The chosen figure may be the attacking figure. If the chosen figure is not the attacking figure, it must roll defense and take any resulting wounds from the attack instead of Spot. If the chosen figure is the attacking, roll 1 unblockable attack die against that figure.

This way it gives the opponent a way to workaround, without losing the theme that his a pain in the butt when he has all of his spots.

Actually, I meant 16-20 and 21+, as long as we're okay with a number higher then what can be rolled.

With 48 hours just about up, what are everyone's feeling on this for a power set:

SPOT PORTALS 6
Start the game with 6 Glyphs of Spot on this card. After taking a turn, you may place any or all Glyphs of Spot from this card onto empty spaces within 4 clear sight spaces of Spot power-side up. Before moving, you may choose any or all Glyphs of Spot within 4 clear sight spaces of Spot and place them on this card. There can never be more than 6 Glyphs of Spot on this card at a time. Spot does not have to stop his movement after using a Glyph of Spot.

SPOT ASSAULT SPECIAL ATTACK
Range Special. Attack 3.
Spot can only use this special attack if there is at least 1 Glyph of Spot on this card or if he occupies a Glyph of Spot. Choose a figure with clear sight that is adjacent to or occupies at least 1 Glyph of Spot. You may then attack that figure 1 time for each Glyph of Spot it occupies or is adjacent to.

With limiting Spot Portal Defense to just normal attacks, I don't see him be too annoying or strong, sure he'll be great against an all melee normal attack armies, but that not too much of a worry for me 'cause most people are better against those armies.

Looking pretty good here! Maybe some weird interactions will come up in testing, but in theory he looks great.

I don't know, I'm still a little worried about going all the way down to evading normal attacks on a 4. Maybe dock the number of glyphs he starts with to 5, so that the best his evasion roll gets is ignoring attacks on a 6? That's on par with Eric O'Grady.

But Eric O'Grady is against all attacks, were Spot is limited normal attack, so O'Grady would be better. Would you be willing to see testing before raising the rolls to see how he fares?

O'Grady also only has 1 Life and 2 Defense, so pretty much any hit that gets through to him is apt to kill him.

Spot will have more of an achilles heel to SAs, but figures without SAs and auto-wounds are really gonna struggle to tag him. Plus some of the time Spot'll be redirecting those attacks, not just ignoring them.

EDIT: Mainly I'm just worried about creating a negative play experience for certain figures. I'd be a more comfortable with a higher roll or 1 fewer Spot Glyph.

Okay, SP updated with latest Spot Portal Defense and Glyph total dropped to 5. I feel we have good options to tweak powers here if needed.

So lets get the ball rolling here, I propose we move to Initial Playtesting at 130.
