Margo Kidder and Christopher Reeve, Superman the Movie

Just saw SYFY's Krypton pilot On Demand. It was broadcast last week, and the second episode is on tonight at 10 PM. They did some creative things with it.

Its tragic rather than comic, but you just can't say where its going from moment to moment! The hero is Kal-El's grandfather Seg, and the story set 200 years ago. But they have already brought on (or prepared to bring on) two other non-Kryptonian DC Outer Space characters (no spoilers here, but PM me if you like), and according to a promo I saw, more will follow. The show seems heavily backed up by DC staff and canon, and has great effects as well. They are doing some totally new stuff, but keeping connected with the DC Universe also.

I'm not expecting anything too super yet, but its certainly worth watching.

The second episode of Krypton continued and deepened several character relationships. Its a grim tale about a grim age.

I just finished The Alienist, based on the novel by Caleb Carr. The first season is an excellent retelling of the novel; I think I saw somewhere the show has been renewed for a second season. Which is good, because there's a second novel, but I didn't read that one.

Finished Season 2 of Jessica Jones...I didn't enjoy it as much as Season 1 but there were some great episodes.

Started Season 4 of Orphan Black. We've actually got a whole group of friends watching it now. We are making plans to group watch season 5. It started with someone here talking about it...then My wife and I started watching it. Then she started talking about it at work and I with my friend...and now they are all watching it and we are all planning on finishing season 4 in the next couple weeks.
Would I want it to be everything I love...sure...but that's just not realistic so I'm going to focus on finding things that will make me unhappy and work on fixing those.
