The ogre rises, stiff from battle. It pulls its hair back, braids undone, and slowly looks around. The sun has not quite risen, but he knows that just means the there are only a few scant hours until battle.

Einar himself is here, but that doesn’t affect how this day will go. The ogre knows this. Nothing abnormal. He cups his hand as he bends down to the stream he slumbered by. A few of the Legionairres had made jokes about sleeping under a bridge before camp was ordered, but the Ogre did not know what this meant. Nothing abnormal.

It pulled the long blue hair out of its eye and braided in the war style common to his clan. Noone would honor or recognize its meaning of course. Nothing abnormal.

The sun was almost up now. The harsh light of this planet’s sun scorching the sensitive optics the ogre possessed. He longed for clouds, but that was not this day. Another day of headache and pain. Nothing abnormal.

‘Hey stinkface. You’re needed at the front lines, not gobbling goats…’ , one of the archers of Earth Einar favors yells at him.

The ogre remains stoic, letting the insult wash over him, as he lumbers to the front lines with the samurai and Romans with bows moving into position.

He sees the hoarde of the enemy and resigns himself to their charge. Einar has no good idea how the Ogre should be used. Setting him on the front line is a waste of his talents….. Nothing abnormal.

The Marro charge into Einar’s lines with impunity. The archers taking down swarm of drones. The ogre swings his club removing the drones from this world, 2 at a time. He takes stab wounds and piercings as the battle continues on….like so many ants swarming a larger beetle, he can easily take down 1 or 2, but becomes overwhelmed facing the many. The archers begin to retreat and so then does the Ogre.

The archers are flanked though. Stingers from Maar begin to fire. It sees a Warlord leading them. A squad breaks off to fire upon the ogre, but the Warlord makes some communicative gesture to them, and they stand down and move away from the ogre to bolster another part of their offensive.

The ogre is disappointed as it notices a pair of Groks coming his way. It was being misused. In Feylund he was an elite assassin. Trained to hunt and destroy the elves’ best archers and wizards. It could track and destroy a squad of Aubriens. Even Syvarris would blanch when the ogre had the Elf’s scent and was tracking him through the forests of Feylund. Massed battles in the open were not to its strength.

But here on Valhalla, it is seen as nothing but a meat shield, instead of forcing the enemies elite ranged forces to confront the ogre, it is sent in too early where it might be avoided by saavy opponents. It knows the Marro Warriors are on the other side of the battle….This is where the ogre should be… forcing them to retreat or confront the stare…..

The Groks bunch in together (a mistake). They ride in and one manages a shattering slam into the ogre, but it maintains its footing and swings at the beast. The swing and powerful attack hits both of them. One is killed, the other knocked off of the mount and flees.

A horn blasts in the distance. A signal for retreat from Einar and another victory for Utgar. The ogre thinks that the Marro will overrun this place soon. Nothing abnormal.

The Marro eventually call off their pursuit once Einar reaches a more fortified position. Utgar will likely siege in the morning.

The wounds must be tended by the ogre itself or it will not be done at all. Nothing abnormal.

Those around the camp ignore or offer derision as the ogre must find its own food from the leftovers in the cookfires. He finds a spot to end the day and knows it will be the same tomorrow, and the same again the next day…..until it is not.

I believe the rule is that extensions can be no longer than two weeks. As judge, you have power to override the rules somewhat, but I don't want to extend it too far.
