Magical Defense isn't really necessary if Johnny can bring him back healed. I'd like to try him that way with a Life of 3.

I found it interesting that he could pop in and cast a spell and then vanish again, but I trust your instincts and judgement on it.

Is it thematic for him to be casting spells or not? Seems like that would be the bigger decider for Magical Defense.

My perception is that he's basically a genie. When you rub Aladdin's lamp and the genie pops out, is he casting spells?

That's a tough question. It "seems" like magic and in some portrayals it most certainly is, in others, it's just powers that they possess. Not sure of in this portrayal personally though...would love to get a wish mechanic in somewhere, even as a spell.

The human figure looks great! For the energy one, the head and outstretched arm are too blurry.

He definitely casts spells. He is only limited by the imagination of his "Owner". It's really almost like the Companion casts the spells through him.

OK, changing my proposal.

I propose changing Thunderbolt's Life to 3 and changing Thunderbolt Protection to the below and sending to Public Playtesting.
