VirtualScape for Mac

I recently tried to download VS on the Mac I use, but it couldn't open it. Does anybody know if there's VS or other map-making system for Mac's?

Re: VirtualScape for Mac

Virtualscape does not work on mac. Try Landscape. Unfortunately, it doesnt have a good 3d setting and it only has a few types of terrain. However, what you have to work with is very good.

Re: VirtualScape for Mac

You can download something called LandSCAPE for mac (http://logrey.home.mchsi.com/pro_landscape.html). It goes through at least the RTTFF expansion (but no later). Also, it doesn't do the 3D pics the same way that virtualscape does. I have a mac as well and share the frustration of other heroscapers who are mac users with the designers of virtualscape that they couldn't have made it compatible with OSX.

Re: VirtualScape for Mac

Zzzzz just gave me the source for the Virtualscape code, and I'm going to start working on porting the code to Linux (partly by making it non-dependent upon the Windows MFC classes). I'm also hoping by doing so, it will make it truly cross-platform, or at the very least much easier to port to Mac (and Linux and Windows).

You sir, just made my day.

Re: VirtualScape for Mac

The big questions will be how long it takes. I found a library called wxWidgets that supposedly mimics a lot of what MFC does, but more multi-platform, so I'm hoping it will port easily.

Re: VirtualScape for Mac

would love a small widget-edition for the dashboard, just so you would have it open all the time and add ideas as they popped to your mind so if someone knows how to that, i hereby command you to do it
