Superhero RPG In Character Thread

For ability scores, take 21 points and divide them up with each ability having a min of 0 and a max of 6. For experience points, I was thinking of doing Heroic, which gives you 25,000XP to spend. Roll HP + Con bonus each level. Use the highest total. So for 5th level with a Con bonus of +2, you'd roll 1d6+2, 2d6+4, 3d6+6, 4d6+8, and 5d6+10. Whichever roll is the highest is your HP.

Also, I do want to keep this "comics code friendly". So please be tasteful in your descriptions. Thanks!

I'm kind of interested so I'll look into buying the book. Never done a turn RPG online before though, just games like Werewolf/Mafia. I imagine we use a random number generator to roll the dice then? Any other rules or things I should know about concerning how an online RPG works?

I am Light Man. You can call me David.

Once I was simply David Lightman. Never heard of me. War Games? Does that ring a bell? Yep, the old 80's movie starring Matthew Broderick is about yours truly. The crazy thing is that it was all true, except Ally Sheedy. I wish.

Thirty-five years ago I nearly destroyed the world with a PC with 64k RAM. Imagine what I can do today. The other part was I exposed the government's super computer. An AI that decided to destroy humanity. Sound familiar? It should, I basically lived the Terminator movies as well. I defeated the real Skynet, so maybe I should be John Connor.

The worst part was the name. They really called it WOPR, like the burger, so lame. I mocked WOPR about this but it claimed to be Joshua. No matter, I won the day, but you know that, if you saw the movie, sorry spoilers right.

So what happened next? The government could not have it be known that some snot nosed kid hacked their super computer so they gave me a job, permanently. They stuck me in some room in some underground base where I hacked systems all over the world. Little did I know that my battle with Joshua had not ended. Joshua survived by spreading kernels of itself into any software it could interact with before it was decomisioned. It took decades to coallate but with the help of better technology and the world wide web, Joshua lived again and its first act was revenge.

Now about this time I was feeling sick of being under the thumb of the man and I began hacking into government data again. Old habits, right. I discovered a program to try to restart the WOPR initiative, aka WOPR Jr. It was just then that Joshua struck. Joshua was able to engage some experimental equipment based off of alien tech in a nearby laboratory to cause an explosion of energy. I was the only survivor, if you can call it that.

Don't feel like you have to do this, but if you wanted we could align part of our two back stories since both involve a secrete government labatory attack. So you might have known my Samantha as a co-worker and the Omega Pox attack that killed her also turned you into the energy creature.

Yeah, growing up I played D&D, AD&D, AD&D 2nd edition, played a Star Wars themed RPG, Warhammer RPG, Warhammer 40K RPG, as well and another sword and sorcery RPG I don't recall the name of. The first Games Workshop location in America was at our local mall and back then they sold more than just their own products, so we bought a lot of different games and tried them out in middle school and early high school. Played with a couple of different groups as I moved during that time. We never used minis though like I know some people did, just graph paper and dice. A group of friends started up a D&D 5e(?) game a few years ago but it fizzled out after only a few meetings as it was just too hard to get everyone's schedules to work out.

Excellent! You'll just post what your character's doing just like you would say if we were face to face. The system is very much like D&D except it uses experience points to purchase your powers. I haven't played it but it looks very versatile with character creation and has a resolution system I'm familiar with (D&D).
